it got noise because of the NFL, but not because it was a good movie. I had high hopes for it when I first saw the previews but the rest of the movie just didn't pull through.

I didn't have high expectations for the movie. Wil Smith can be a good actor but overall there was no big pull to essentially see a documentary that could be better covered in an hour on PBS. Oh, it was and I found that to be informative and concise.
With football being such a huge part of American Culture how many people really want to know how potentially damaging the sport can be on players? Would that mean we'd have to evaluate our national past time and our viewing habits? I don't think a lot of people are ready to do that without some serious introspection.
I look at Wes Welker and he seems a hit away from major TBI that will permanently affect his life. Yet I will still watch come September through Feb.
great post NG, I tried to have my son watch it who plays FB and has had a few concussions back in middle school FB. I guess he thinks ignorance in bliss... I know his Step Dad won't watch it either seeing he played NG at UNH on a full boat. But, I'm glad he's one of his coaches because I know he'll pull him out at the HS level no questions asked. The good thing is this has brought the issue to a bigger limelight at the HS and pop warner level.
This preview may or may not catch your attention but if you have DirectTV or U-verse check this one out. It is worth watching (I have seen first two episodes so far) for the Carter character alone.
"London Has Fallen" is fine as long as you watch it with the correct expectations.
If all you want is a bombastic action movie with cliched dialogue and an absurd plot then the film will be just fine.
If you watch it expecting to see something like "Heat" then you will be sorely disappointed.

finally saw Creed last night, very good movie and I wasn't even a fan of the Rocky movies.
Sly Stone did a great job playing Rocky again. I liked that this movie didn't have any of that slickness the earlier Rockies had and instead seemed to hearken back to the grittiness of the original. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the steadi-cam in the ring. It was over used, IMO.

Another comedian from the 80's I can't stand was Joe Piscopo.
I can't even remember the last time I saw him in either a movie or tv show.
