Wheels I'm no grammar nazi so excuse this comment, but for a second I read your comment as if Stanis was a transgender (TG short for transgender). WTF?!!? Commas are friends.  Commas may be your friend but a comma was not necessary in that statement. Yep, she is a smokin' hot TG (Transgender). (your meaning) Yep (I agree, comma), she is smokin' hot TG (Top Gun). (You wouldn't place a comma if the statement was only "She is smokin' hot Top Gun" so it is not necessary in my statement either.) Saw Love & Mercy last night, movie about Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys played by John Cusack and then Paul Dano who was really good. I'm not a Beach Boys fan, but I really like Cusack. This was a really good movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903657/

Saw Love & Mercy last night, movie about Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys played by John Cusack and then Paul Dano who was really good. I'm not a Beach Boys fan, but I really like Cusack. I have never seen that show and I never will! So you'll watch a bunch of crappy B-movie sequels and give them 1 and 2 star reviews but you won't even consider watching one of the most popular and critically acclaimed shows of the last few years?

Hamilton 2: Not if it concerns your daughter. Crazy title, no doubt better in Swedish. Really good film, if you are in the mood for the occasional subtitled scene. This and its predecessor seem very grounded (Casino Royale or Bourne) in reality compared to some action films, although the intel seems somewhat prescient Also interesting to see how a smaller (ostensibly neutral), but significant, Western power views itself and power projection.

Got delivery of the Bluray extended edition of The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies yesterday. Everyone was out last night so I had a relaxing evening watching it in my cinema, it was worth the wait too, I had missed it's release to the cinema and held off on watching the original version that was released earlier in the year for the release of this extended edition. Film was 2:05 long and got so engrossed in it that I never noticed how long it was. Some cheesy moments in it and overall it has a lighter tone than Lord of the Rings, but it has it's dark moments too, it sets up The Fellowship of the Ring quite nicely as well with some hooks into the continuing story.
All in all it was a good conclusion to the Hobbit.
Now I have to make time as my son wants to do a marathon of all three extended editions one after another, followed by the extended editions of Lord of the Rings.

I liked the Hobbit films for the most part but they fell well short of the LOTR films IMHO. I think the fundamental problem was with the new characters. They just weren't as interesting or as compelling as the characters from LOTR.
There were also some scenes that were excruciatingly drawn out like the barrel chase in the river.
