My GF and I just finished Generation Kill, such a great series. She's really liked this one and Band of Brothers.

My GF and I just finished Generation Kill, such a great series. She's really liked this one and Band of Brothers. Generation Kill is indeed a great mini-series. That's where I learned about how often Marines say "interrogative".

The Jedi Master my nephew did 5 years, he said a lot of it was pretty dead on, maybe he was just referring to the cluster F they can be at times... The whole Capt "America" really pisses me off and I can see it happening since he has high ranking family, believe his uncle was a full bird... Then the "Encino Man" useless twit in command

Well, you can look for it on VHS but it's probably easier to find on Bluray or DVD.  The Jedi Master

Don't get me wrong, it steps up but not like S2-4 did. It's more like how S1 ended. It saves the season, but it doesn't make it better than previous ones.
The Jedi Master Got one more episode left. You're right. It does feel like season one. You can't match the Red Wedding no matter how many action scenes they film and Colosseums with dragons. GAWD, I hope Stanis dies a cruel death... and that witch burns for a loooooong time.

The battle at Hardhome was seriously awesome, and the deus ex dragona was neat, but other than that there was no Battle of Blackwater or the Wall to punctuate it.

The Jedi Master I agree. Blackwater and especially The Wall were amazing feats for a TV show. Blackwater is when I really grew to like Tyrion Lannister. Dinklage and the writing make him out to be such a real character with as much internal strength as any normal sized person (even more than most). There's a hardened dignity that Dinklage portrays in Tyrion that one can't help but root for and admire.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Oplev, 2009) - The original swedish version. I have to say that Fincher is clearly a better a director than Oplev and his film edges out the swedish version in my opinion. I found both to be very good though. Rooney Mara's Lisbeth seemed a tad more authentic to me as a goth (and her tattoo was cooler imho) but, again, both actress' gave good performances. Ironically, I preferred Nyquest over Daniel Craig as Blomquist. I will probably have to watch both films again to make a finer judgement.

Men in Black 3 - Not nearly as good as the first two films in the series. The Brolin-Smith combination just didnt work for me. It's clear this series is highly dependent upon the Jones-Smith combination.
Ant-Man - Went into this film with extremely low expectations and knew nothing about the comic book character. I have to say that I was mildly surprised. Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas did well in their roles. The suit looks much less campy that I thought it would be. Unfortunately, the villain was paper-thin. I give it a B.

I thought Men in Black 3 was far superior to MiB2 and for the most part I think Brolin did a decent imitation of Tommy Lee Jones.
I literally couldn't stand number two. The first one was a good introduction but the story was kind of light IMO. Didn't help that all the good scenes were in the preview.

I saw the 2011 version first,thought it was very good,then discovered the original 2009 one which I have to say I preferred.Plus it had Noomi Rapace in it,who I like a lot.

Only the first MIB did I feel was good enough for me to bother buying it on bluray. MIB 2 and 3 both suffer from the same things, 1. Uninteresting cookie-cutter main villains. Has Laura Flynn Boyle done anything of note since MIB 2? 2. The comedy often seems forced and awkward. No doubt they were trying to recapture the magic of the first film. The original MIB is a fantastic film but it was a film that came out at the right time and it had the perfect cast. Both follow up attempts have fallen well short imho.

I also think MIB3 surpassed the 2nd one, but not enough to get close to the first one. It's a distant second with MIB2 firmly in last place. The cast of the 3rd one was definitely better than the 2nd one, which helped. I also found the ending of 3 did a great job bringing it around full circle and explaining K's character.
One stands alone just fine, but 3 requires the first one to make it good.

I've been enjoying a couple of episodes of Star Trek continues/Phase II. Funny thing is, They draw me in right from the get go. I've not seen those but I do want to check out that Axanar fan film with Richard Hatch and Tony Todd.
