You think you know someone since childhood and you move away. Next thing you know they're probably going away to jail for a long time?

When I was a young teenager, 14-17 years old, I hung around with some very cool guys. We drank beer and chased women, got in fights, drove fast cars, got tickets...etc.
I joined the military service, during the Vietnam Conflict (didn't get shipped there)....and when I got back, after 4 years, all my old friends, now 21+ years old...were in jail, or dead.

Go figure.

We all make our choices, and pay the price.
And sometimes, life just takes a turn.
Sometimes....it just baffles me.
Do we really decide?
Or does life just drag us along?

Me just out of the service, deciding which way to go;



Less than a year later, I was a cop.
Who would figure.

Got a ticket, and saw a want-add in the paper, Detroit was hiring.
Figured I'd be a better one.....

I like to think, I was.
I retired with the same ticket book I was issued when I was a rookie.

Life? Do we just follow.....I dunno.

Found out when I went back to my mom's house in 2000 that one of my friends from HS is a registered sex offender. He deserves to be there as well.

It is understandable which way you went as you ain't on a Harley. stirthepot

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Oh, but it "IS" a Harley....lol....just not a big one.

This is back in 1969 or early 70, and IIRC it was only a 650, not sure but to be truthful, it wasn't even my bike.
But it WAS a Harley.
Guy brought it over and I took it for a spin.
My car is in the driveway. wink

See a Harley here?
