Gravity - Really liked it. Edge of your seat stuff. Dont go into it rivet counting though.
The Butler - Good movie. Oprah has chops as an actress. Little on the prechy side, but thats kind of the point in th telling of the overall experience regarding the civil rights movement.
Captain Phillips - Solid movie. Tom Hanks was good, but really not carrying the Vermont accent. I can say that as I am from Vermont. The Somali actors were excellent. All the more an enthralling telling as it is a true story.

So what exactly is a Vermont accent? Ya'll from New England sound the same to me.

You watch all these films that I've never even heard of Colonel. You will be surprised how many celluloid gems I have come across by not sticking to big time mainstream productions. If you want something different, look up crime movies and thrillers from France, South Korea, Hong Kong. Hollywood can learn from them. Hollywood is only capable of cranking out big budget, noisy, CGI and SFX ridden cookie cutter movies nowadays!

Panzer,I do what ColJames does,I spend a few hours looking for films that I have not heard of.Sometimes I need to clean the Hollywood out of my system.
If you watch Jaws backwards, it's a heart warming story about a shark that spits out so many people that they have to open a beach.

That is an exaggeration. While many Hollywood films fit that description you have studios like Miramax and Sony Pictures Classics that put out artsy dialogue-heavy films.

Latest TV-show: an episode of The Cosby Show (there are currently reruns on TV). Haven't seen it since I was a teenager (back when it ran in the 80's). Did not age very well (but a lot better than Roseanne, especially concerning picture quality).

Did not age very well (but a lot better than Roseanne, especially concerning picture quality). I've also found that a lot of my previously favorite 70's and 80's shows have not aged well. When it comes to sitcoms from the 80's there's a certain amount of innocence and naivete about them that makes them awkward by our current day standards.

'The Warriors' (1979) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080120/Not the first time I've seen it but the first time I've seen this version.I think it was the Director's Cut,it had a comic-book style to it. Superb film,I would give it a 4.5/5 on the ColJames scale.
