Hey Naviss -- try the Hueys in The Highway next time you see it running, please. I raised their starting altitude from 700' to 5,000'. Let me know if that's enough height to get them under control -- also if that could be lowered any.

---

I just finished saving all my Options Controls profiles -- one each for KB, Rudders, Joystick and Throttle, for each aircraft -- in preparation for a fresh install. But the download is taking forever even on the Hollo Pointe's 60 MB connection.

Interesting point on speed made by Mustang over on the ED side:

Bottom line is, even ADSL 1024 is enough for a baseline connect speed but don't be scared of using 2048.

I've not had any problems with the full throttle mission with clients at 1024- but we don't get a lot of CA involvement either. Given that most Firehouse Missions do have a lot of AI involvment, 2048 may be the better setting. Try it out and see... but don't automatically just jump on LAN settings anymore as clients.

Ever put any more thought in how we can simulate that Rover? I looked into the opportunity with the A10C remote software on the ipad but it just doesn't quite get me in there. The server is only local from what I can tell and the guy (boarder2 I think) hasn't got back to me on my inquiry.

I'm not rich. However, dollar value does mean a lot to me. That's why my first and only stick was the HOTAS Warthog! So here's the window sticker to give you an idea. No - I didn't pay that much. Bought it used.

Okay enough teasing. smile

Wesley, you seem to me to be a very practical young man. immelman

My first real car was a Gran Torino for $2900 -- The Hutchmobile. Here I am working on it, back when you could...

Boarder2 posts here and eagle,

I think the best solution is to try and get ED to consider a JTAC UAV Position, since they had code for it at one point.

This idea didn't work out... Too many infantry units and too many odd explosions.

55 mpg? How!? That's better than my motorcycle...

WC - its still possible to work on cars. I work on my Mustang on a regular basis. Its just that some things now require a computer rather than a hammer smile

Eno - do you have any recommendations as to which missions may possibly require 2048?

Hi Snipor... I think I'll put the suggested connection speed in the SITUATION report that you can see when you're connecting. Most of my new missions take into account the incredibly inefficient AI so I don't have that many at any one time- but some of the older ones are stuffed with AI.

2048 may be a reasonable goto for Crew's and my missions since we are predominantly P-Vs- AI servers.

And about working on cars... don't get me started.

There some secret key combination other than left (or right- I only have left) win+home for the A-10A?

Sooo who was taking off at Mozdok together yesterday when I blasted youse guys?

We were playing Back To School and the situation was down to its final chapter -- Blue was wiping out the Red armor columns and Red was tearing up Beslan and Mozdok airbases.

Normally I wouldn't kill opponents on the tarmac but when Back To School is ready for the final bell then it's clobberin' time no matter where you are.

Yeah, you replace a chip -- viola' it works again. smile

I replaced the engine in that Torino by myself. My dad had me help him replace the engine in a '65 Mustang when was ~10, and we only had 5 bolts left over. Cars, scheesh. Had a '92 Corvette for nine years -- wished I'd spent that $$,$$$ on my mortgage. Now-a-days I fill up the car and take it in for its lifetime service plan -- since I tend to keep cars for 10~ years.

What were we talking about..?..

v127 -- still getting server stops with high traffic. Hollo Pointe is set to allow 16 Clients. The server is stopping when the Client load is high, like > 10; I am saving the server Logs. I see 'Server Ping Timeout' on my puter and the server says 'DCS Stopped Working'.

Getting client/server crashes aswell, this time when an SU-25T got shot down on Back to School while invading Mozdok airspace. I have noted that a couple were shortly after AAA opened up.

Make sure we're getting those logs submitted!

Oh and on the note of the F-14... stumbled into this video while Sweetest and I were looking for suitable opportunities. Right now it's divided between the F/A-18C and the Tomcat...

There's a sequence that starts around the 2 minute mark that made my hair stand on end... Music won't be for everyone- but it suits the video well.

Launching a new mission-

Georgia Peach Campaign: Advance. It's the first Abbie offensive since the campaign began... tear down Geo defenses to initiate the offenses and support the advance. Choppers are expected to move troops into / near cities to clear them out and assist with armor.

Admitted, it's a first flight for it. I had it built awhile ago but had to move it onto the server comp. If you don't mind a few issues here and there it would be a big help!
