Oh, ya, I have everything set to low/disabled. The framerate is just barely acceptable that way. My video card barely gets the job done. Hopefully in the next few months I'll pick up an R9 290X.

I don't think I have an account over on the ED forums. It doesn't matter to me if you post the issues I've encountered. If you think I should be the one to post the bugs I'll go create an account.

It wouldn't hurt to have an account there... you downloaded the beta after all and without your logs / tracks me saying that it happened would be of little value.

However... zip up all the same files and put them on a google drive and I'd be happy to submit- but frankly it's easy enough to get an account so that would be my "plan A."

sniporbob, there is a bug in the beta: click and hold a mouse button and the fps will increase significantly.
And check the ED forum about ATI vs. Nvidia performance in DCS before buying the R9.

Just wanted to say thanks to the guys on HP last night for the help and fun. Enjoyed the server and people a lot!

Hope to fly again soon!

As mentioned by Skate, there is a work around for the mouse issue that can be found here:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1950914&postcount=50

As for AMD vs Nvidia... though I know Skate has reasonable success with his setup I think overall Nvidia is the more reliable performer in DCS.

Who knows what'll happen with EDGE- but until that happens an Nvidia card would likely be the safer choice.

Can hopefully fly today. Shut down early last night (just as everybody shows up....) due to our great Toronto Area Ice Storm, just to be safe. Lots of power outage, exploding line transformers and downed trees - so I get a free day off (if the power isn't back soon - hydro estimated 12 to 18 hours).

As for GPUs, I have always found Nvidia to be stable and have never had an issue with anything. The one ATI card I had way back had a 2d rendering issue (2d panels in FSX would have a diagonal slice in them) caused by an issue with the chip itself that ATI never recalled/fixed/refunded. After that, and my no-issues-ever with Nvidia - my business stays with Nvidia. Currently running two GTX 660ti's in SLI.

I'll bring up Process Lasso again for anyone that could use it, as I find it to be very helpful and it should be for you guys too. Process Lasso lets you adjust CPU affinity (what runs on what core) and it can be configured to set affinity automatically each time a process starts. The idea with this is to set DCS to the last "upper" cores of the processor (cores are labelled starting at 0) - for non-hyperthreaded Intel CPUs this is cored 2&3, hyperthreaded 6&7. Move background CPU heavy apps to "lower" cores. Windows seems to work by doing as much on one core and pushing the overflow to the next (in general) and this really eats into DCS performance. You don't have to buy it - the free version does all that's needed. Just start a process (DCS.exe) and right click in process lasso and navigate CPU Affinity > ALWAYS > Select CPU Affinity.

http://bitsum.com/processlasso/ <-- Make sure to grab the 64bit version!

Interesting Wesley- about the Process Lasso... I'm wondering if that will make a significant difference- but I suppose it would make much more of a difference if you were streaming or running recording software in the background.

I'd consider applying it to the server computer- but it doesn't run anything other than the server and I suppose windows... workload on the resource monitor is pretty unremarkable.

Biggest thing affected when it gets busy in there is RAM-

If it's REALLY that easy, then maybe if it helps a little overall it's worth doing- and I'm going to assume from your recommendation that it is reliable?

On the subject of ATI / AMD... I was running a 5870 back when those were the dominant force and even though I had reasonable performance back in those days, when I handed it down to Sweetest's kids... it had the roughest time with glitching and banding I'd ever seen... spent hours trying to fine tune it. Finally got tired of it, dusted off one my my older 460s I had in SLI before the 680... dropped it in the kids computer and it worked perfectly with no modification.

Any thoughts about a crash party on the 27th to follow up Christmas / Boxing day?

More of a neighbourly flight to celebrate the holidays... test new equipment... give 1.2.7 a workout...

Yes!

Though it'll be a rather simple layout- I've tried running my MIST loaded missions (with CTTS) and I get nothing but errors and I don't expect that'll be solved any time quickly.

But yes, I think it'd be a good time to get everyone in for a nice flight.

We crashed the server. I think I was shooting an "invincible" SAM with the KA-50 AP rounds when it crashed.

I see it went down and am submitting the log as we speak. Not going to lie, kind of excited about it.

Also- for you guys wondering about how to submit error reports.

You can find the proper folder in your User / Saved games / DCS Open.beta / logs (and Tracks) folder.

When you're in there- before you go open up another multiplayer DCS game- put the dcs.log, dcs.crash and dcs.dmp file in their own folder. Then go down to the Tracks folder and grab the track with the same time / date stamp as the crash and dmp file. Put it all together and use your winzip / 7zip / whateverzip-rar-etc to compress it. With the track it'll probably be too big to attach over at ED forums... so upload it to a google drive and then share the link- like this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8MeQLQ7pOpjY0xFaE1ZcGU2YUU/edit?usp=sharing

That is all the files needed... and in the post just mention what was happening when you crashed. Nice thing is with this new track data, they should be able to get by without the description.

The new Paradise mission is almost ready. The logic is in place -- just need to add the Clients -- A-10s and Hueys. Get to shoot down cargo planes and rip up armor and artillery, w/o any anti-air missile threats. There is a smattering of AAA. COOP Air with opposing Ground Commanders.

This one has a new feature at the end -- Radio Menu choices will come up to choose one of two other missions to load. If a selection is not made, or is canceled, then Paradise will reload.

Eh guys...

A bit of a hiccup on the 1.2.7 side of things- 1.2.6 as well I think for a little while because both my server interfaces were a bit messed up.

Anyway, things seem to be back in line a bit. I'm putting up Eastbound and Down- stretching things a little to see how MIST reacts. Grimes is making adjustments to it, but currently the only glowing problem is with logistical items being spawned in with CTTS- so unfortunately that takes Killbox out of the running for a bit.

Well, actually... I can take out the logistical items but the transports won't have an opportunity to help complete the mission.

It should be up and running now. Thing is- I don't have pause on load activated so you won't have all the time you usually do to halt the advance.

Hey WC, we have a team killer on Hollo Pointe. His name is ******. Looks like he left after gunning me down right after take off. Mission is Southern Wind. I was climbing after turning towards WP1 and he just flies up behind me in an F-15C and guns me down. I called him out in the chat log and he left, if you can look that up. I hate team killers.
