I liked it! Sort of a thinking game, and hunting too, and at least when I was there air defences were light. I got a little lower as I got more brave but didn't attract any anti air. The mission crashed at the point were a bunch of forces started moving toward friendly forces. I had already worked over a few vehicle groups to the SE (which were unaffected) and then when that message popped up I got a bunch of kills credited and then the mission disconnected.

The S'paign edits are done, for now... Hope all the errors and issues are taken care of; always am surprised to find an error in an old mission. It would be good to get dedicated Red and Blue teams to battle it out in this mission series.

I've been sick with a cold over the weekend, and had been considering going to some of my other games as my ability to stay focused has been practically taken away. However, after a good nap I found myself booting up DCS and checking out the Firehouse. Luckily for me Bast, Rider, Eno, Mol and Wheel were on amongst others.

I loaded up a couple extra 65D's, six pack of GBU-12s and a pair of 105s. While I waited for alignment, I watched what everyone was up to - seeing Eno go in guns on a Ka-50 and Wheel threatened by a 25T. Getting into the target zone, waited for Eno to take down the Ka50, but he was down to guns so I put a sidewinder into it before it could get away. I thought that would be the highlight of an otherwise CAS focused mission - but I could not have been more wrong!

The player from the Ka50 rejoined in a 25T and flew in on our forces down on the deck near the FARP while I circled clockwise above. I had no AIMs left, my second one was wasted when I accidently forgot to switch back to CCIP when going for a MAV shot on a BMP! I spotted him 3 o'clock low, and quickly rolled right to bring him into view on my 11 o'clock roughly level as he pulled up from the deck. At this point there was momentary server lag and I swore out loud in frustration (luckily my finger was not on the PTT!) but he came into view. A couple fumbles with the MAV and I got a lock, rifle, and that was that.

At this point, my heart is pounding away, sickness be dammed I'm wired now! I look around for more air targets but that seems to be all. I maneuver to begin circling again only to hear my RWR go off with a missile launch on my 6! No friendlies in that area and nobody calling out rifle. Some violent turns both ways, a good set of countermeasures but alas, this shot was from too close. I watched the impact on my left engine and see the other Su-25T behind me. Turned my head forward working to avoid another missile and put out the fires and see what's no longer working but another missile is coming and without engine power, less then 1500 feet to the deck - I'm out of options. It hits, I eject - and Rider claims revenge for my kill! (I'd like to note that in my panic I forgot to dump stores - those bombs and left over MAV's probably reduced my maneuvering ability to near useless.)

The new slmod message announcing scored Air-to-Air kills is useful, however - it did have Rider quite scared for a minute as he thought it was saying he shot down a friendly!

------------------------

That's my story for the night - so far, the most exciting experience for me in DCS Multiplayer, and DCS overall for that matter. Really great to have been that into it, that my body reacted to the situation. To me, that's what it should be about too, really getting into it and enjoying it - even if it means being frustrated. I would like to comment that I think that this combat, without Air-to-Air radar and long range missiles is more fun, more personal, and better for new players.

Thanks to you all for a great Sunday night!

Hi Eno,

Not that I saw. I watched T-55s shooting at the other side but that was it.

I also notice the SL mod announcements last night. However I was taking out sleeping Tungs. And laying down trooper ambushes in Gali. And having a ball.

Eh guys.

Wartweasel is getting a haircut. With crew and his new enthusiasm for the opfor ground commander and the recent issues with the netcode and AI- (and some convincing feedback from Bast)- I decided that this is one of these cases where less is more.

I'm going to keep TRYING to work in dynamic weather since I think it REALLY helps to boost the experience. We turned it off yesterday but I think there were other things at play when we were experiencing some warping.

Next on the block will be EB+D. Donkey Kong has already been trimmed down but might not be enough. I'm going to try and minimize the number of ATGM units in all missions.

Killbox is also being highly randomized so the groups start in a similar place but then go through some random path finding to their destination (which is random). That should help rejuvenate that mission. I might trim down on the AI on the ground... though most of it is inactive on the ground until an offensive starts.

Welcome to the Suk will also be heavily trimmed- just a matter of cutting the incoming forces in half. I hope as this happens more folks will be inclined to work with CA.

great work Eno! Thanks for all the stuff you do for us. Looking forward to the randomization in some of our more played out missions!

And after all of Eno & Crew's hard work making the missions more stable, hopefully we can finally be able to claim that we have completed one! cheers

I'm game if Saturday morning early or evening is doable.

The five-mission S'paign campaign is going to take a couple of days to complete, at best! It could go back and forth with alternating Red & Blue wins.

Thinking the weekend of November 8th or 15th -- starting Friday afternoon and running until..? Hmm, prolly the 8th, as raven will be here. I'd be surprised if one side could win it against live opponents by Saturday night.

I'd like to keep the Red and Blue teams separated - no crossing over, and no monitoring the other side's TS channel! who does that?

I have a crush on her -
So she will be the leading lady in the new Herky Jerk mission -

The Herky Bird will orbit until the Hogs clear the objective of SAM threats -

Then run in to pick up Spec Ops with the ol' balloon tether method -

Based upon Jim DeFelice's "Target Saddam" -
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E8UH6XC/ref=yml_dp

Extraction made easy -

Hogs escort the Herky Bird RTB -

Looking to do radio calls on this mission... I found a female crew for the big bird. I will need audio editing help to string together recordings. Can I record the voices and have the background engine sounds added later? Or, should I run the DCS engine sounds in the background while the 'actress' talks?

I just got the meaning of this now, since we had the same thing happen yesterday. It was a de-sync of the server from a script error.

I'm trying to stay on top of those- pretty basic mistakes I think...

Sorry for not being clearer Eno. I asked on chat whether they broke CBU-97s at one point since I wasn't sure what was going on. After getting nothing on the first pair I dropped I re-attacked the same group with a single and watched it zap a bunch of em without any damage. I was surprised when the kills all flashed by and then the connection dropped after that.

I can mix/master the tracks for you... We can also edit(add in/cut/fade) it in whatever way you need, panning things, adding spacial effects and what not.... I'd just need the raw sound files and your instructions.

Neat! I am working on the dialog and mission events. Need to test how the 'Radio transmission' works and sounds.

What should I use to make the voice recordings? Something free?
