Some quick notes about Eno's Killbox that was running in the FH server last night:
A few errors I'm aware of:
1) 2 Predator drones spawned simultaneously... only 1 is supposed to be in the air at a time. It's been shot down before so I just wanted to make sure another spawned in its absence.
2) HAWK battery at ANAPA doesn't turn on when friendly fighters aren't in area. This resulted in a few of us being clobbered. Basically I am trying to make friendly air defences step in when friendly client fighters aren't in the area. In order to do this I need to work out the triggers and some MIST functions. As Shahdoh and Bast can attest, it is a challenge for me to say the least!
3) No navy CAP... the F-18s that came in were ground attack and they were quickly swatted out of the sky by MANPADS. Yeah, exactly.
4) The lighting made for some VERY challenging conditions- being early morning just before sunrise the conditions on the ground made it incredibly difficult to spot targets... not changing a thing there!
5) Need to make a trigger to get convoys moving even if it's only KA50s or Huey's in there- Currently they only start if A-10s are in the mission. Once the first convoys depart, then It runs as normal and KA50s / Hueys will have stuff to do. Either way, it'll be fixed this morning.
I'm travelling back to work today so have some time at the AP to do some editing. If you guys noticed anything else last night that I haven't already noted, please let me know so I can fix it!
In addition:
Shahdoh had mentioned to me the other day about aircraft being empty of fuel etc. I found that we still had that problem last night when we first started. I had opened the file in the mission editor and saved it as a new mission version once the update was applied. Regardless of this, the mission structure was affected enough to cause issues.
Blooze, we talked about this earlier and you said it was over your head- but this will be a necessary step for anyone running a server or missions. I thank Crew for walking me through this process before:
1) Open up old mission in new mission editor. Save as a new file version.
2) Go into saved games folder (wherever your missions are saved). Find the relevant .miz files.
3) You may need to go into windows to be able to "view file extensions." I believe this is done through the control panel in appearance and personalization into some folder options, into view tab and uncheck "hide file extensions for known file types." That should allow you to see and change the .miz to .zip. To do so, just single left click on the text of the file name and just erase the .miz and input .zip. It will warn you that the file may not work properly- just click okay. It's fine.
5) Double click on the new zip file and it will open revealing a variety of folders. It doesn't hurt to just clear out the folder of everything but the included mission file. This means you may need to go back into the mission editor and edit some items. Just go back in and check airfield status and your warehouses. Sometimes mission settings can be switched as well.
6) Close the zip file, and return it to a .miz file. You will get the same warning about changing the file... click okay.
7) Open the mission in the mission editor to make necessary changes and save it.
This should help with stability on your server.
ALSO:
People without the newest update have been able to join updated servers resulting in extremely high ping values. This causes substantial warping. It may be best to broadcast which version you are running since it doesn't automatically exclude people who aren't running the latest.
