Crew and Eno last night I was playing in the firehouse I noticed that Full Throttle was running low on targets so I hit the command to restart the mission. When I did this I played for about ten minutes and got connection interrupted. I came back in about 5 or 6 times and each time I would get connection interrupted before I was even finished with a start sequence.
Before I reset the server I had played about an hour. And I had played the night before for about 90 min with no issues without giving any admin commands.. Crew had mentioned that raven had some problems in Hollo Point that was very similar and he believed it had something to do with SLMOD.
Shadoh had me go into an aerobatics server that he has rights to which does not use SLMOD and I connected without any issues and was able to fly with out getting connection interrupted.
I know nothing about SLMOD but I believes there is something with it and my admin rights that are causing my sarrows.

Molasses - How about on the Hollo Pointe server now? You are not an admin on it anymore, and I did reboot it, too. raven is now not having problems with disconnects since I removed him from the admins. I need to bring him back into the admins to see if the problem comes back. Eno has the raven logs.
Try on The Firehouse to remove yourself to see if that helps - type '-admin remove Molasses'. Don't know if you can remove yourself but it's worth a try.
I'm doing chores this morning and will be at the edit desk afterwards - and on TS in case you want to try any tests.

WC I tried your sever the other day when you said that you was removing my name from the Admin list but when I tried it I still got Connection Interrupted. So I left your server and went to Enos that night and Played the rest of the evening without problems... but the server had already been reset and I made no admin commands. So last night when I got on I flew around for about 30 minutes... the targets were about gone so I did the restart and as soon as I did I started getting connection interrupted. It was so bad that when I would join I couldn't even complete a startup sequence. Thats when Shadoh had me come to his server... that doesn't have SLMOD and I was on for 30 or 40 minutes and never had an issue.

Just so you guys are aware... SLMOD is server side only- so a remote admin doesn't have to have slmod on his computer... it is entirely server side. A guy logs into the server side and his only connection to admin functions is through a .lua file that has his UCID and name. That's it. No files change hands, SLMOD doesn't affect anything within the game on the client side.
The minor exception to that rule is if an update occurs- in which case the main.lua needs to be returned to the SLMOD version to accommodate the data tracking etc. The server.lua I believe needs to be slightly modified as well to all for people to be disconnected etc... but again this is server side only and I haven't updated or restored anything in the recent history.
I'm more suspect of the "reload" function without a disconnect. This has caused us consistent issues in the past and I still don't have 100% confidence in it despite the fact that we have had SOME success with it. My suggestion is that I grant access to the server computer through TV to another individual who would take the responsibility and that mission changes happen through a disconnect at the desktop level followed by a mission load.

I don't get where you're seeing that these guys have servman / slmod on their client computers?
Also, I've pointed out a VERY common issue we've had in the past by changing / reloading missions without a proper restart.
There is one other possibility as well that I've just thought of... and that is that on the past occasion I haven't opened the missions I've edited and restored back on the server computer before having them played. Typically we're supposed to open the mission in the editor, then resave it on the server computer before playing it.
I'm going to go and make sure this happens- though I'm dubious that's the entire problem as that was true of the session of full throttle mol was playing when he didn't get disconnected. He didn't start disconnecting until he reloaded it within the mission environment without a full disconnection first (using TV to reload instead of slmod functions).

I am not convinced that Slmod is a problem. From the observations of Molasses and raven, it was logical to take them off the admin list on Hollo Pointe. It would take more time and sessions in an attempt to repeat the issues and log the results in order to make a conclusion. I'm sure not having a problem, and raven seems to be OK now. Molasses - talk to your ISP to see if they can monitor your traffic ? --- I am convinced that the trigger reload of missions is working well. There was that week back a bit where for days I let two missions reload each other. It better freakin work 'cause the campaign needs it! Hollo Pointe is running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and I think that helps. --- I no longer open the mission in the editor on the server. I do all my editing on my local Client machine and upload the missions to the server and that's it. But this is bothering me... I just don't know if the 'next' mission in the Load Mission trigger is launched from within the current mission, or if the 'next' mission name is simply matched to the available missions in the path. If it is the former, then one must be careful when stringing the missions in a campaign together. Considering that each mission has two outcomes, say a left and a right, for five missions the sequence for setting the Load Mission triggers is 2L 1R 2R 3L 4R 5L 4L 3R 2R. Scheesh, I've been thinking about this for a long time. I think it'll work... WC

Good progress - the Dynamic Weather is not too hard to lay in. Have two of the five missions weather in place --- we should see S'paign missions up sometime late this week for the shake-out phase.

Seeing ping increases within a few minutes like what I saw last fall season. I'd connect and watch my ping increase by one for almost every second that went by. That is what we are seeing here on raven's connection now.
The ping to Hollo Pointe should be about 185 for me and raven. But it will increase by one for about every second until it gets to >>400, approaching 500.
Molasses, look at the Pool window to see if your ping goes up over time.
If this keeps happening to raven I'll call the ISP here about it. If Molasses or anyone else is having issues with Hollo Pointe then I can call Comcast -- PM me with details.

I was on by myself today WC and it was smooth as glass. No lag and extremely accurate SAM fire at Novo on the Highway mission!

Not sure I know what a "Pool" window is. I was in playing yesterday evening in Eno's Firehouse and I started getting connection interrupted one right after another... so I flipped over to the 74th Flying Tigers open server and I connected and was rock solid for about 30 mins. I never got the connection interrupted on time. I got bored, lack of anything to blow up, and decided to try it again at Enos but this time I changed my name. I changed from "Molasses" to "Bee Slobbers" I connected without problems and I did not get disconnected one time. I played for about an hour without issues and then I left because Bloose started a mission. I may experiment around with that more this week.

The name doesn't matter. Everything in slmod is based on ucid.
I'm certainly not saying there isn't an issue- there is an issue on one side or the other. I'm wondering if some unit I've added is suddenly causing problems.

My gut tells me that there is something in the SAVED GAMES folder that needs to be removed and/or re-set but I'm not smart enough to know just what file may be causing the problem. Anyone else know? IMO the best thing to do would be delete all except config files or other essentials and let it rebuild the rest (just a guess) Either way I also think that a DCS repair would be wise as a follow up if the problem is identified.

That's a rational consideration Blooze- and I may need to go back in and rebuild a bunch of these missions if that proves to be the case. The suspicious thing is I'm not seeing blanket disconnect problems over at the ED forums- nothing that we haven't seen in the past anyway. This really is a strange issue.
I have reopened the missions in the ME on the server and saved them- I am seeing a large number of folks in there doing their thing (which I've noticed today involved a bunch of @sshats ramming into AI escorts around the tankers) and though I'm certain some get disconnected (as opposed to bored)- people are able to connect and stay connected.
Next step is a repair / empty .miz files.
I'm going to keep looking into it.

I'm going to keep looking into it. What I meant was an individual client's Programs/User/Saved Games/DCS folder. This is an individual's issue, not as you say, a blanket issue.

Dangerous man indeed!
So if I understand that right, are our mission files saved on the client side as well? This would certainly cause issues if they are preloaded and a mission changes but the filename stays the same.
Possible?
