Hello Frederf
No hard feelings bro, I probably got a bad impression at the first time. Thanks for writing back.
Thanks for the clarification as well.
We'll play together again.

Hi Eno,
I played on your server yesterday (and a week ago and the week before that). Great server - thanks for hosting. Sorry for the short reply yesterday on the chat, it might sound a bit unfriendly. I was flying on the target area and trying to stay outside the AAA envelope while trying to grab my keyboard. What and how a msg is interpreted from chat could sometime be confusing. I think i will join TS next time, although I'm a bit shy because English is not my 1st language. And also thanks for allowing export, not a lot of server allow this anymore. Hope you have a good day.
Cheers

Cheers Eh Wick- no problem at all man. I didn't think twice about it and I know often things can get very busy in there. No worries about communicating on TS3- we're fortunate to have members from all over the world with a variety of language backgrounds. Fortunately we all speak a common language in the Firehouse and Hollo Pointe Servers... DCS! When I come in under the firehouse name I'm actually accessing the server computer remotely and as I said in our back and forth yesterday I can't see anything because the 3d rendering is turned off. This helps minimize the workload on the computer and keeps things nice and hopefully smooth. I'm home now so hopefully we'll see you guys in there soon!

I can't see anything because the 3d rendering is turned off. I have had thoughts of turning 3DRender back on because of the same thing. I'll switch it to True soon. TV is so quick to use to access Hollo Pointe that I often think it would be good to join a slot to see what's going on. It's the weekend! WC

I completed another mission tentatively entitled Killbox Zulu-Romeo. Briefing below:
The balloon has gone up in the NW portion of the region. A reinforced mechanized infantry battalion has been landed by an amphibious assault task force north of ANAPA. This mechanized unit fought its way viciously through our protective vanguard and has since surrounded the airbase. Now, low on fuel and ammo, the force sits just out of reach waiting for its logistical train to catch up. Small pockets of supplies are being assembled and sent out as soon as possible while larger convoys will be organized and sent out later. The remnants of one of our heavy cavalry troops attached to the 11th HCR have assembled in a tight perimeter at ANAPA and are holding firm until rescue arrives. The Carl Vinson Battle Group is charging up the coast to render assistance but won't be in a position to help out for a few hours...
Blue Task
A-10C: Depart Krasnodar Center and head immediately to Killbox Zulu Romeo. Engage and destroy any vehicles related to the enemy force's supply effort. 2 Mavs and a full drum of CM is all you're getting so use it wisely. Limited resupply is available at Krymsk if needed. If you find yourself without air cover in the presence of enemy fighters- head back to Krymsk and seek shelter under the HAWK umbrella until the storm clears.
KA-50: You are at ANAPA, surrounded by an elaborate invasion force bristling with MANPADS. Sneak around the SW corner over the water and head NE to help intercept incoming supply convoys.
F-15C: Fly directly to your orbit station and provide cover for the mud-dogs. The enemy fleet to the north is centered around an aircraft carrier so anticipate some action. Navy F/A-18s will help as much as they can but don't depend on them.
JTAC: Find some high ground and watch for incoming convoys. Communicate with nearby aircraft and coordinate their efforts.
KC-135 Tanker: Texaco AM 150 Tacan X1 E2D AWACS: Wizard AM 132

Had to do a quick fix on the SuperHighway as well- We were supposed to be able to reload at gelen from the beginning but it wasn't working- fixed that. It was set to 0 ammo / aircraft... I suspect even the KA50 slots weren't populated because it was set to 0 aircraft.
We just had someone land at novo while it was still occupied and it crashed all clients though the server was fine. Having some internet issues now too so not sure if that contributed- but anyway... it's back up and fixed. Probably will run the night.
I'd also pared back some of the convoys because of the smoke bug issue. I highly, highly recommend Rider's fix. Back up your smoke files as he indicates and replace with his modded versions. Worked really well so far.

I wasn't able to contact the tanker on 150AM but the 001X TACAN did work. Is it possible to make a more interesting set of channels for that? Maybe something like 146.65 for comms and 121Y for TACAN. I have this half-baked notion that Y is preferred or only-possible for A/A TACAN but I don't have solid info on that.
Also some red infantry east of the bay from the airbase were at -6000 to -10000 feet.

I have a "change freq" advanced option set to 131 somethingorother and probably forgot the stock setting. I'll fix that. 2) (More exciting freqs) Don't want to sound rude or sarcastic when I say this but it's not on my list of priorities. 3) (Infantry) That's an odd bug... We had a similar problem with an SA-13 unit in Full Throttle- not sure why that happens. I'll look into it.

Really glad to hear it wheel. I made it pretty quick off an idea that came to me while talking about resupplying the AI vehicles- it came together pretty quickly so I wasn't sure how it would be received.
It was still up this morning but should have been completed when the troops "escaped" to the Vinson. Not sure if that even happened or not. Trying to go through the logs but if someone wants to fill me in I'd appreciate it!
Really glad you guys enjoyed it.

S'pain campaign mission testing - the left-most mission of the campaign is under development - the Kobuleti Maru. Blue has their back against the wall, and Red is pushing in from the east. This is the last stand for Blue -- the Red Democratic Republic smells blood in the water! Blue Liberation Forces have ships ready to pull the BLF from the coast. Red is bringing in the heavy artillery - so Blue BLF A-10s have to stop the Red Democratic Republic convoys. All Blue forces are falling back to Kobuleti Airbase. Apaches are available for Combined Arms tasking - Blue's last stand - Here is the status of the five missions in the S'pain - P.S. - Shirley's Cross has been up for a bit - it was designed with Combined Arms interaction as an influencing factor to a coalition win. Played for a bit earlier, the carl vincent group was jusp offshore, ans a whole line of blue forces were on the shore. Then I got hit 5 times in a row from manpads....

Okay, those troops on the shore should have eventually "deactivated" as if being loaded up and taken out to sea. Hope that happened but all groups have to make it to the "extrication" trigger zone.
A few things in the mission that can happen:
1) Sufficient supplies make it into a particular area. Red tanks attack and overrun the base. 4 supply convoys need to make it into the zone before this can happen. If they're destroyed within 20 minutes of their arrival then they don't count. 2) All supply convoys are destroyed. Blue goes on the offensive and runs down the red troops. Red tries to retreat back to the north. These convoys can be destroyed to help expedite victory conditions. 3) Carl Vinson arrives and troops begin a withdrawal. Red forces need to be held at bay while this happens. If blue reaches the extraction point then a victory condition should exist.
Under certain circumstances, red ground attack air forces will attack the airport.
I have also put some finishing touches on another mission I've been working on for awhile- and it's basically the "PRE" mission for Operation Snapshot. It is in this mission where required resources are moved into place.
The mission has the potential to be really fun- but it isn't one of those rock'em / sock'em missions. A-10s have 3 potential tasks that are allotted randomly throughout the ferry flight, and KA50s have 2. There is a chance that you could fly through the whole mission without being given a task... there is a chance that you'd get 2 tasks (it's a long flight so I don't want to give you TOO much to do)- and you could get any 2 tasks.
1) A blockade of civilian vehicles has assembled to prevent a Ticonderoga class cruiser from entering port. She has requested assistance in doing some "passive" muscle flexing. A-10s are asked to orbit the ship closely at under 1000 feet for 5 minutes to help "encourage" the blockade to move along. 2) A red force submarine (now friendly, remember) surfaced out to sea and reported to be damaged. It then fell silent and hasn't been heard from since. You are being asked to assist with the search as a show of "good will." If found, ships from both sides will respond to assist. It "Should" be a friendly encounter- but you know how it goes. 3) Intelligence reports that drug cartels have been moving product over the water SE of Gudauta city. Local law enforcement has requested that you track down an armed speedboat bringing product ashore. Once found, destroy it and the "mothership" that it is reporting to.
KA50s have separate tasks on their way to FARP London:
1) On your way, local law enforcement requests your assistance to follow two suspicious vehicles to their destination. Once there, standby for further orders. 2) Scouts on an international exchange trip have become lost in the woods while attempting to get their "map reading" merit badges. Local firefighters have been looking for these kids for hours but had no luck. Your services have been requested to help find them. Help bring the little darlings home!

Eno which mission are you talking about? Is this the Killbox mission? We played that last night. Wheel and I ran Ka50s and we ran out of targets pretty quickly ... I found out there was another set that respawned near the coast but I never made it back to way points Hunter or Kill B. After that final way point there is nothing else I assume we are to loiter there for more convoys to respawn... is this correct?
I actually believe that mission is very cool...
On the A10 side its very tempting to go Ramboing in and kill the convoys as they are comming in land from the coast. However if you get out of that ZR61 killbox you are no longer the hunter you become the prey.
Next time I fly the A-10 I am going to plug in the killbox into the TAD using waypoints then mark the road using markpoints it would be easier to slew the TGP if you have 5 or 6 mark points at different locations along the road the convoys are expecting to be traveling.
I also got into JTAC on that mission last night and I could get into any vehicles is that correct? After I crashed I was going to move a Vehicle up and start marking targets for Wheel but the only thing I could do is get in and see the red forces locations I couldn't control the Blue ground forces or move into the DCS world. Only FOG of War in Ground commander.
