Only got hit once at about WP 9 - DOH

Need to repair...

AAC -->edit

Doesn't look like much -

But it took out the gun, and front tire which interfered with my landing...

So I'll put off any more editing for the night. But this is the same thing I noticed in the long running Nuke Plant mission just this last week with the SA-10. That Nuke Plant went for 90+ hours and this Highway is 4 hours and I can't get past the top of the lake ? I wonder if anyone has been able to get past the bridge at WP 4.

If the enemy missile effectiveness changed much then it will impact a number of missions. (Opportunities!)

Hey Crew,

I flew the Highway mission on Sunday night and it was very hard to get past the first waypoints. I had to fly very low, something about 50 feet on radar height, and at full power on the A-10, which is not much, but seemed to make a difference. And then, by the third attempt, I was able to clear the lake and get on with the mission.
And yes, Buks were particularly deadly, with multiple launches, even after waypoint 4.

Full throttle has been running quite steady throughout the day... had a crash recently and error reports have been submitted. Two smacktards today that I saw... I haven't even gone through the logs yet.

Penguin... Both crew and I will work on these new BUK capabilities... sounds like Crew has already adjusted his side... I won't run the highway until I get it fixed as well.

Sweetest and I brought the kids over to the Vancouver Science Center recently and one of the little displays was a scale that showed animals that are of an equivalent weight...

If I ever wasn't sure without a doubt that I was destined to stick with the Hog in spite of the other platforms available out there, I now have irrefutable evidence:

At 100kg almost on the nose, the applicable beast surprised me...

It really begs the question though..what would you be playing if you were a "Giant Beaver"..?

* Googling "Giant Beaver" under Google images wasn't quite as satisfying as I thought it would be..hmmph..

This is the #2 scenario, in the center black circle - Red forces are chasing Blue back to the west, to the coast. Urban warfare is the game in Streets Of Kutaisi. The Zesti Highway mission that started the campaign is in the black circle to the right.

If Red can get into Kutaisi City they will bring in artillery ammunition to be used on Kutaisi Airbase. If that happens then Blue will lose this one, too.

If Blue loses Streets Of Kutaisi then the next mission will be in the spring and light fog in "Kobuleti Maru", on the coast with Blue against the water and nowhere else to go.

I would like to say... I played in the Full Throttle Training in Eno's server last night and I felt pretty good about the Black Shark. As you all know I have had my ups and downs in learning to fly the Shark I think I am getting a Handle on it. "Best" told me to try to fly right out of the gate with out using the Dampers on the Trim. This was helpful. As I got more and more stable I gradually added the Dampeners and now I can hold a hover and fly fairly pretty effortlessly. Another thing was advise that "Wheel" gave me. He told me to practice landing on buildings with flat roofs (pinicle landings) this has really helped as well.

There are many things however that aid the pilot and some of these things can hinder the ability to manuver. Auto Turn to Target is one, Fly Route is another, and Hover Hold is yet another. These will fight against you flying the bird with Trim and Dampeners on. I have mapped them all to my hotas as well as a Emergency Trim Off button so that I can turn them off quickly and effortlessly.

Last night I was able to consistantly engage targets returning to base a couple of times to rearm. I was shot down once and crashed once due to pilot error and twice because of technical issues with the Stick (it came unplugged without my knowledge). This is in contrast because Saturday Night I thought I would never get the thing flying in a straightline. copter

Great job Molasses.. Flying the Shark is one of the most rewarding sim experiences out there. It requires total focus and attention. Once you figure out that trimming system, and find a technique that works for you, it becomes so much easier. I would love to experiment with Black Shark with a Force Feedback joystick to see how the experience changes..since those control pressures are so much of what makes flying the real thing a bit more intuitive. I like Auto Turn, Route, and Hover Hold, but as you said, you need to have a quick disconnect so that they don't interfere with your control movements when you are in a hurry.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it. I always smile at the fun of just going through the startup procedure and getting into a hover.. smile

Also - thanks to Wrecking Crew, Eno, and Gordo for the awesome missions. They really show a great knowledge of the Mission Editor and innovative use of the features. THIS, to me, is (or will be) the fundamental reason for the success of DCS - a dedicated fan base willing to gin up new content and really make the mission experience ever changing.

Thank you BA...

Not getting much flight time in - want to get this campaign done for the next Fly-In.

I'm looking at the calendar and think end of April is coming up real soon - yikes.

---

Seeing a lot of mission development work posted here on the DCS forums!

End of May in the US is Memorial Day Holiday - that w/e should prolly be avoided for a Fly-In weekend.

You've got me thinking about campaigns... I need to work out the flag value thing though first.

I still want to do the "fly-in" country mission... where you need to get a certain number of aircraft into the base before you can continue. Of course not everyone wants the long, "boring" flights over so you'd need to throw in something to keep guys entertained...

Generally, what would you guys think would be the longest "ferry" flight you could endure?

ok, that takes skill. You didn't even jar your visor loose.

Just about done with the x97 joystick project and then I'll be able to fly with you guys again.

Pictures to come...

AWESOME I want to see Pictures... X97...

X52 + X45= X97 Wow

So let me ask you a question. If I buy another X52 and merge it with my current X52 wouldn't I have an X104? And wouldn't it be better than the X97? and Instead of getting 1 up on you ... I will have essentially gotten 7 up on you? LOLOLOLOL cheers

Actually I wouldn't would have to do a lot of experimenting before I could do anything like that. Its really quite impressive. I really want to see your pics.
