Awesome Diggy. I won't be in for a bit as I have some editing to do on the Playground for the fly-in... but I'll be in a bit later!

I don't think so but if someone knows better I'd love to learn. It's like the Nevada terrain. The only ones that would see it are those that have those files on their PC......at least that's my understanding.

I have never heard of a capability to include additional skins in a .miz file. The pictures and audio files can be added through built-in interfaces for getting those objects into the mission.

The a/c skins are selected through the armament screen, but there is no user control to add in more of them. Perhaps a .lua file could be modified.

FYI - adding pictures and sound files does add a lot to the mission file size, making Join times longer. And there is a 'bug' on the Reload Mission Trigger, where that copies the reload-mission into the .miz file and can almost double the .miz size.

WC

PS - Blooze you do some nice graphics work.

The a/c skins are selected through the armament screen, but there is no user control to add in more of them. I have added more of them numerous times on my machine.
The selection menu on the armament screen accesses dds (skin image files) files for each default skin available in DCS World. A new set of dds files can be created and inserted in that directory. A new title can be created in the livery so that when you acccess the drop down menu to select a skin for that mission, the new name will appear in the menu and if selected will enable the new dds skin files to be used. But I still think that the only way for anyone other than the server to see the new skins they would also have to have the new files loaded on their PC.

I've heard that too blooze- you can see it but nobody else can.

If we get to a point where we all have certain new skins that we like we could make a download available on the front page. That way regulars can all have access to the said skins and we'll all be able to enjoy them.

On another note blooze, I did grab your icon and use it for my TS3... props to you for that!

I'm talking about how to get them added to a mission such that everyone could see the artwork. It would not be a choice at that point for Clients to pick what skin they wanted - it would have to be assigned to the Clients like the initial weps loadout is. The sound files work great to play on everyone's Client machines, but they sure do take a bit to download each time someone joins a mission.

A skin cannot be changed after entering into a mission, and MP missions don't offer a way to change a skin.

When I did SimHQ racing, we would send skins to guod and he would incorporate them into the 'mission' race download package, and everyone could see everybody's cars - neat stuff - but then everyone in the races was dedicated to their racing slot/car.

Good point. The way to do that would be if the server assigned the 104th skins for a mission, as an example. And instead of creating a new name for the new skins, the 104th skins would be modified with new graphics but retain the same name. That way the clients would be forced to see the 104th skins as assigned by the server but everyone would then see the modified version of the skins.

The skins could correspond to a Group ID... In an enhanced (DCS) World.

---

My dad-in-law went and got a new television for his bedroom and has been screwing around with the Internet connection the past few daze - Hollo Pointe is at his house so whenever he's disconnected the cable it has taken Hollo Pointe off-line. Got home again today to find the server off-line. He should have his HiDef install done tomorrow so hopefully no more interruptions.

This is along the lines of something I greatly wish to see implemented... I wish that I could have logbooks and helmets and decals that could be associated with our in game player.

These are good ideas guys. You should consider going over to DCS and adding in some Wish List items.

In the Back To School mission on the Red side there are three groups of seven units of MBT T-55 tanks that -- for some reason -- cannot be Player Controlled. I Tried switching them to MBT T-72Bs but no joy.

Don't understand why these three groups on the Red side cannot be CA controlled. It would be a great asset to the RDR forces if they could be advanced.

Anyone interested in on-line racing should check out the SimHQ racing site -
http://simhqmotorsports.com/forum/

My most fun races were the endurance races - I could hang on through the curves and in the dark, and finish!

Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

The only thing more accurate than incoming fire, is incoming friendly fire

Tracers work BOTH ways...

The Firehouse server has not been listed in the MP server list for over an hour.

Yeah, I'm having issues connecting to Hollow Pointe, and not seeing the Firehouse. Hopefully I can get up and running a bit later or tomorrow.

Hollo Pointe is up and saturated (16+ clients). If it seems like you're stuck at the loading mission screen, it's just that the mission is loading slowly. Give it five minutes (a literal five minutes, not a "oh-my-gosh-ive-been-waiting-for-EV-AR" five minutes).

Kicked for high ping. Gotta love Time Warner in NC. I'll be on tomorrow, and tell WC to keep an eye out for me in a Shark if he's still looking for entries in the crash contest.
