From what I've read, all of the flaws in the standard version were fixed for the pro... better resolution, spring tension, programming etc

I kinda thought so about the first one but I really like these. Way to improve Eno!

Don't think I'm saying this just because of the server. Not that it hurts of course smile

Yeah I hear you- they don't look so tacky when they're smaller. When I see them while editing or on my phone they actually look pretty good- but I did notice in larger format they don't look as good.

Who is up for nighttime highway tonight? Anyone?

I got the night highway up and did a few runs on that- JTAC was interesting with the IR pointer... had a few close calls because at some angles it's tough to tell which direction the IR pointer is coming from. Beans was working JTAC for me and of course my TS3 dropped out on me for some reason. Stupid.

Anyway- we typed through it and he got me within inches of completing before he had to go. He helped me with some of the AAA threat and I hit the heavy stuff. Between us it worked out really nicely.

Night does make things REALLY exciting on the highway- I spent most of the way lit up by tracers... MUCH more dramatic than during the day that's for sure.

Anyway- it works nicely... Winter doesn't seem like that big a change to me so I'm going to need to do something about that. Night... well- it was awesome!

I've hardly had a chance to fly this week... night Highway has been at the back of my mind the whole time... think I'll see what's up in the Firehouse as soon as I've demolished the steak my wife is cooking! And it's a three-day weekend... life is good!

Well... as Eno says, night Highway is awesome. (I loaded it through slmod... what a neat system.)
You don't see even 10% of those tracers in the daytime... especially the ones that go zooming over and under the canopy when you think you've made a clean escape!

Also, this had more impact in the dark:

Made it to Novo with only one unscheduled rivet in my wing, and since I'd heard tomcat talk about igla threats I had a good scan around... seemed clear! First Shilka dead... and there are the missile launch warnings!!! In the end I managed to take out both iglas before a Shilka took out my gun (the first igla launch had already taken out my CDU as well), so I made a tireless landing at Gelen and called it good. THAT MISSION... IS FUN!
Hats off to Crew as always... he says it came from a simple idea, but the execution just knocks me for six every time. Also to Eno for hosting and tweaks!

I was having a really hard time staying on Hollo Pointe due to framerate issues on road kill. I switched over to the firehouse and flew playground for a bit... wish I'd had stayed on a bit longer to play highway with you guys. Night highway would be ridiculous.

Glad you got them X Ray! That's some fiiiine recce right there. For some crazy reason my GTX 670 is out for delivery today and I ordered it yesterday at lunch so assuming I can chase it down (expect to find a delivery attempt note on my door when I get home) I will be playing asap... And also wow, talk about a good 1st impression of NCIX... Crazy impressed.

The problem with Road Kill is one of the enemy KA-50's had the gun pods on the side and was letting loose with a nonstop infinite ammo burst. It just tanked the server.

^^^ That is the second post about the AI Ka-50s and non-stop firing in Road Kill. Interesting... I'll take a close look at them - there are two flights of four.

We had a su25 AI aircraft do the same in rampant bear too- dropped frames to 1-3fps.

Also Sochi-Adler aircraft shelters drop frames by half... If you're facing Sochi Adler your frames drop. I believe that was a known graphics glitch with some of the shelters.

The AI Ka-50s in Road Kill have Advanced Waypoint actions to Fire At Target. I'll try removing those actions, first.

Will look at the Su-25s in ORB, too.

Well it gave me a chance to play JTAC for Eno so I didn't mind that it lagged me out. Same issue we had that one night with the AI A-10 that was flying around and firing nonstop.

I didn't really think about it much, but the ka-50 was flying around laying down a massive stream of rounds. Reminded me a bit of the opening scene in terminator 2
