It's no problem Eno, I just wasn't real sure what happened. I mainly was hoping I hadnt fouled up. I'll see if I can find the track and watch it, I haven't tried that yet.

Edit: Well when I load the tracks in 1.1.1.1 nothing happens. It will not play any of the tracks I have, I have to force quit DCS. I'll have to try and work on it after work

So I'm confused--but not confused enough to read 77 posts. Is this server running World (as implied by the front page) or 1.1.1.1 (as implied by eno's posts above)?

Don't worry about the tracks for now Rep- as mentioned in my PM to you I can see quite a bit of what happened... but sometimes it's the explanation of what it means that is lacking.

To those of you who are reading this- If you do, for some reason, get kicked for something like this... please just wait the 5 minutes and let me know what happened. I'll then make certain that I remove record of the kick from the records so it doesn't apply a ban the next time. It's easy enough to avoid- just drop me a PM in here and I'll remove it soonest.

The firehouse is running "what works" so basically we're back to 1.1.1.1 for now while Hollo Pointe, Crew's Server, will run the latest version of World. That was basically decided this weekend.

Pounded the heck outta Rampant Bear for a while today, cleared the East with some help from tempus. Was fun! Even slew the SA-11 with some terrain masking and markpoint Maverick-ing. Very satisfying to recce, mark & hide, fly for a bit to set up a shot angle, then reappear and shoot.

It was in 1.1.1.1 It was about the time that Rocket Barage occures at Kutasi... Screen froze frames went all the way down to 1 for about 15 or 20 seconds then it would be fine... but it would do that about once every minute or two... then finally DCS stopped working.

Fulda gap was fine... it was a little studdery at times... but not nearly as bad as Thunder was.

I put up Hollo Pointe on Monday afternoon - after getting a new cable modem that supports port forwarding. It's not at my house so there was some running around to do, but the server has been solid, with Nuke Plant at 20+ hours and a ping to me of less than 200.

The experience gave me an appreciation for the hardware side of things - what Eno has gone through to provide the Firehouse for our fun times. Lots of considerations re remote connectivity and user accounts.

I did put up a new mission called Shirley's Cross, and it needs further development so I will be working on that. It's another different kind of a mission - involving heavy Combined Arms to get the job done for a win. As set up now, the A-10Cs and Su-25Ts are limited to guns - because I want a lot of the battle to be ground based.

There's backroom talk about the next Fly-In... third week in February? v1.1.1.1 Missions? New update from DCS? People get ready.

Eh boys. Sorry I've been absent and unable to tend to things. Had an issue with our flight last night and spent from 7pm to 1am at an airport with very little connectivity. Broken plane- missing adapters... Been a long couple days.

I am just on the end leg now on the vancouver side and hope to be in tonight. I'd like to take on battle for belcheroswhateveritis- I've never seen it. Remember there are particular lanes in and out that need to be followed-

Glad you got the server up crew- looking forward to test driving it soon!

I was in Thunder of Kori last night and though there was some frame rate issue it wasn't as bad as it has been. Great time Kori is definitely not a one plane show. Lots of teamwork. Lots. crew

That was a fun mission, I didn't have a lot of time to play though and DCS crashed a couple of times.

I thought I'd put up Thunder on the Hollo Pointe server to see how the frame rates reacted to the artillery on Kutaisi Airbase. I jumped into a Red Ground Commander slot and followed the artillery to their destination with the F7 View.

A couple of folks joined in and about the time the artillery started firing, my pings to the server and all the other pings to other players went up from under 200 to about 400. I tried exiting and rebooting but the pings were horrible and the Client a/c were floating all over the map - I even got a disconnect. Everyone else's pings were in the same range, so I don't think they were being affected.

I called my ISP, Century Link, and had them run a trace. Was on the phone with them for about 45 minutes while they "rerouted" me. They could see the trace from me to the HPt server in Comcast's network - physically it is ten miles away. After they finished up, I was still seeing high pings ~400, and they said to please give it a little bit to settle out. After all that I retired for the evening.

This morning Thunder had been running for 5 hours, so at some point in the night it did reload (which is good). The ping in the MP Lobby was about 160 (good again) and when I briefly joined the session my ping was about 170 - so hopefully everything is all good.

I hope you made it home safe, Eno!
