No, not tracking radar, the search radar on the Tung that's good out to 18-20km. 360 The radar aspects of it isn't exactly modeled. Its purely a visual targeting system. However the radar will show things on Fog of War (if enabled) and the radar On/off can be set by the "State" on the F10 view. Note that the radar model might still show as turning. That's good enough for now. You can use the search radar with F10 and then engagement is visual. How do you turn on off your radar such that it contributes/does-not-contribute to the F10 map?

Yeah... need to go through at some point at edit out the mission reloads- To be honest, I'm not used to them actually making it to a reload... usually they crash first.
It's a good sign- but it's still just too bad that we needed to strip the missions down before it worked. Hope they'll have a GOOD update soon.
Riders of the Storm is up.

Quoted from earlier: "The radar On/off can be set by the "State" on the F10 view."
Is that not the answer you're looking for? I can't verify from where I am (and I don't have CA)... but it looks like it's an option available in F10.

So you'd toggle the radar on/off on your self unit via some control on the F10 map? I could see that being handy for surprising unsuspecting targets. Assuming a 300 knot target and 20 km radar range you could do a single sweep every 60 seconds and the closest you'd catch a target would be 10km away which should still be enough time to go silent and get off a SACLOS missile shot.
Or if you're even more devious use a dog ear radar set and never turn your radar on ever.

Uh oh. Remind me to discourage crew from putting ANY CA slots in the Firehouse or have ALL air starts at 20k plus.

ok flying night mission in enos today what key is NVG [night vision goggles],cant find it in option.eno did tell me but cant find it. Pete, Below is for the goggles. Which I have mapped to buttons. Toggle Goggles: H + RShift Goggles Gain Up: H + RShift + RCtrl Goggles Gain Down: H + RShift + RAlt However to properly employ the goggles you must also adjust the intensity INTEN < > of the HUD on the UFC (up front controller) otherwise it gets drowned out. I also have these mapped to buttons for convenience. thanks guys had a great game saturday night,we had trouble getting tanks comeing to our airfield, shame some was not on ts3

Eh Pete... Glad you're still enjoying! Got one of your old favourites up right now- the Highway. Unfortunately we've had to trim out some of the assets (tankers in particular)... HOPEFULLY only tentatively. As a result I haven't stripped out all the triggers and associated mission briefing info.
I've also spent some time moving ALL mission files into the SLMOD mission folder. That way guys with admin privileges can see the list and load new missions when the time comes. In addition, I spent some time tonight ensuring all missions that are designed to reload once the objective is completed (or failed) are set to reload from the right place.
To give you some idea of what happens- basically Crew does the missions on his end and sets the reload triggers for HIS computer- then when we load that mission into MY computer the reload paths (though still default) are still slightly different. We need to go back in manually and adjust the reloads- otherwise it'll stall out and pause.
Then, we've also had to deal with the fact that the SLMOD mission folder is different than the default position... Anyway- I cleaned that up last night.
I also spent some time adjusting the Playground2. Now I have slots of a variety of FC3 aircraft (properly configured so they don't explode)... some bandits circling the periphery of the training area... some ground slots for the CA guys to practice including tanks and AAA / SAM... and also unmasked EVERYTHING- considering it IS, in fact, a training mission.
I figured out what was wrong with my JTAC slots as designed- I hadn't put in a callsign... suffice to say that is a vital step. The callsigns have been applied (Playboy and Hammer... har har) and they will provide targeting data on a couple different groups. Again, mostly just to practice the 9 lines.
I've eliminated the tankers as well from that version- unfortunately I am just KICKING myself right now because I deleted the tankers and then got a bunch of ideas... I wish I'd done all the changes- saved it... THEN deleted the tankers and saved it as another file. Argh. Ah well- 4am decision after a busy night shift.

Wow I was soo out of it last w/e with a sinus headache - I still have it - figured you all were having fun on Saturday night but just couldn't sit in front of a computer... So I watched the whole season of Sons Of Anarchy on Saturday and Sunday. Man is that a great series. Tig rocks in his role. Really wanted to get to tweaking *all* the missions. Eno - if you get a chance - set Thunder's Civ Traffic to None before it goes up again - that may just be what's needed to stop the frame rate hits since so much traffic gets backed up at the blown bridge near Kutaisi Airbase. As for the slmod mission folder - I understand that Windows 7 has folder aliases(?) - but I have never used them. Perhaps the slmod mission folder can be an alias of the DCS..Missions folder so that the mission files do not need to be maintained in two places. If anyone knows how/if this works let use know? Any problems over the weekend? I don't recall The Highway having problems with its tankers, and Thunder was not having Client disconnects with its tankers... What exactly is the 'suspect' list of issues at present? And the settings? --- In CA in F10 View the State can be set as mentioned above, which should turn off the Tunguska's radar if set to Green. But Yes, it does still spin as tested last Friday with Wild Turkey. He was in an A-10C and we were able to experiment a little bit, but there were too many other emitters nearby to get a conclusion as to whether the radar was actually going on and off and detected as so in the A-10Cs RWR - a little more time testing this and we will know for sure. Sorry you aren't feeling well. I'm under the weather too. Haven't played Riders until last night. When I joined, Molasses and Turkey were raking up the points. After I mistakenly destroyed a friendly ground unit for -100 pts, I spent my time trying to get out of my 'hole' and ended up having a really good flight. Using weather and canyons for cover isn't something I've had a chance to do yet. I think there were around 8 people online when I left the server at 930PM mst. Server was rock solid on my side.

Eh crew welcome back to the land of the living.
Thunder has been adjusted and is up. To ALL: turn civ traffic OFF on your end. I can't enforce it off because that causes issues. If you don't turn it off, your computer will run it at whatever setting you have it and probably cause issues.
Tankers cause a variety of problems- most are immediate ctd's or eventual connection errors. After 15 pages, we nailed it down in the thread on ED... Taking out tankers on all missions, and unlocking the civ / scene detail were found to be solutions for the widest variety of errors. That in combination with disabling timeouts and on our end putting the server in the dmz to ensure the port switching wasn't a problem on the server end at least.
I now have all current missions in the slmod mission folder so we don't need to copy them back and forth.

To no avail... The civilian traffic is still there... see screen shot below. I turned off my civ traffic in my options graphics menu and entered the game. I went into Thunder and made a gun passes down low to see how the frames were going to be and it was horrible. Slide show. Civilian traffic was still present. I like this mission however we played it four times last week and now we are playing it again. Today the Highway was up and I had 0 issues. I completed the mission and went back to the highway with 20 Mk82s and ROCKED my frames were as smooth as silk. But all I have to do is enter the Thunder of Kojori mission and my frames go down hill.

The slmod missions folder is where the mod will look for mission files if you want to change the mission via slmod admin commands.

Yeah- I think the idea behind running it was more to try and resolve some bigger picture issues and thought maybe we were getting there. If you've got yours off, and I've got them off... Guess it's a bug. I'll submit the mission tonight and see if we can get some feedback. A part of me is wondering if it's all the aircraft flying into Williams that are causing it in the same way the C-130s crush frames in Roadkill. There are 3 C-130s... I think there are 20-30 aircraft in Thunder.
Unfortunately even things you can't see that aren't rendered have an effect on frames for some reason... I suspect we may need to figure out a way to maintain the mission concept while developing another way of implementing it so that so many "live" aircraft aren't in theatre at once. Possibility is that smaller pockets of aircraft spawn, land, park and then disappear and are replaced by "static" objects. A single live tanker in the middle of a group of static objects can be the "target" to wipe out the enemy force- and a scripted explosion used in concept to destroy the aircraft on the ground. Allies will then need to pick apart the various ground defences for the mission win.
Though I love the way it is right now I do agree we need to re-engineer how it works... somehow I don't think the processing of the "out of sight" is going to change any time soon so we'll just need to figure out how to work around it.
Crew- I'm perfectly willing to help out and am not putting this on you alone.

have you tried changing the time to say.. mid-day?
Sunset/Sunrise is a Pain because of the larger Shadows, HDR, and other Bloom effects they added, my frame rates are decent if im looking AWAY from the sun last time i was on during thunder.
