I have a new version with some KA-50's added but that's the only difference. It is originally a mission from DethJeff. Gotta get him to start playing again. He is a good mission maker too.

Can someone point me in the direction(or maybe pm me) a good TIR5 profile? The "Wags" one is nothing but the "default" profile...
I find that one to be a tad Tourett's like at times...

It's all a matter of preference, WT, but I take the "smooth" axes and apply them to pitch, yaw, roll axes and am happy with the result.

Just a few shots from Run Sadam Run tonight. Glad you guys had fun. I'll see if Jeff has more to play with and get him to start flying with us.

Master? hehehe. Evidently Einstein never taught you about that whole rotor collision thing.

Meh, that is just small details. I can fly in formation and shoot things with my weapons. That is all I need!

More training you need, young padawan, but I sense much fear in you.
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to shooting down the KC-135 after 5 minutes of chasing the boom.
Sounds like maybe we've got a three-ship of Sharks next time we're all together, though! Time to start working the datalink and group attack tactics - they're similar to the infantry tactics you guys do in Arma (bounding overwatch, flanking, concentration of fires, etc.) so it should be an easy translation.
I've got to dig up an old mission that was designed for a group of Ka-50s but then adapted to also include fast movers - it's a fun one.

Eno the network activity monitoring program is called wireshark. Its been > 6 years since I've used it and I dont really remember how so I'm afraid you will have to RTFM and figure it out yourself. You should be able to apply filters so it only captures relevant packets as opposed to capturing every packet sent by any device on the network.
Sorry I still haven't been able to fly with you guys. I just haven't had a break. On the day I was planning to join in the rear tire of my motorcycle blew out, so I've had to spend a lot of time getting my bike up and running again. I should be back soon....

Cool snipor... be good to have you in there. As you can see above there are more guys flying the BS now so you won't be alone out there anymore.

Okay boys!
I'm happy to report the Firehouse Server is back in business. Not sure what the issue was but I've since been able to rejoin after a number of reinstalls and some messing around with the network config.
I have the playground up now... with a wide variety of aircraft slots available including Su-25s, F-15Cs, A-10Cs, and Ka-50s. I might add some additional aircraft types for the FC3 crowd... some Russian fast movers would be cool at the same airbase. In fact, I think I will do that- maybe not right this second but very soon.
To keep it simple, I'll just drop them in open ended without waypoints. Should be able to find your way around the map!
Again, the idea of the mission is more training- lots of tankage available, loads of targets as well as JTAC- though I'm not sure if I have it configured properly.
Also trying to figure out how to get an enemy unit just to do a circuit around a certain route- if I can give that order (basically make DP / SP link up). Suggestions? Solutions?
Crew and I have also been trying to get missions configured and cleaned up properly to ensure a stable platform. I think turning off the forced scenery will help. I've also been switching some missions back to "allies only" on F-10 view to force better communication for target locating. This should prove itself in iShot- especially now that Su-27s and F-15Cs have been added. We want to limit F2 views through F10 allowing guys to see the loadouts of potential prey. In the past we could see who it was, where they were and how many weapons they had on board. You could then evaluate if you were going after them or not... or if they were coming after you.
Looking forward to some feedback!

Funny enough it seems the tankers are adding to my issues here on my side... so we're probably going to have to stick to tankerless missions for a bit until it's fixed. Other recommended omissions include JTAC, Predator and AWACS.
We're in iShot right now! Come on in boys!

IIRC getting units to loop a set of waypoints is not really possible without doing some unusual things. I believe you had to have one unit that remains stationary somewhere on the map. You then put it in the same group as the units that are supposed to drive around. I think it has to be the lead unit. You arrange the units that will be moving around so that they are at the first waypoint. Then you somehow save the current layout as a formation template. You then arrange the units that will be moving around so that they are at the second waypoint. Save this as a different formation template. Repeat for every additional waypoint. Then (possibly using triggers? I'm not sure) you basically have the lead stationary unit cycle through the formations. The moving units effectively perform a patrolling loop. I'm not sure if its even possible to get air units to patrol between waypoints though.

Fun times, guys!
Wreck, here's my observations:
1. Enemy fighters need to be equal in numbers and ramp start - no air starts. Maybe a resource limit on the number of fighters and radar missiles? 2. Mozdok needs some semblance of air defense. NavyNuke strafed (i.e., rammed) Wild Turkey while he was parked on the tarmac (i.e., stuck in the mud) with zero resistance from the ground folks. Even a quad of AAA would be better. 3. Put in some Su-25Ts for the reds - SEAD/faster movers 4. Heck, put some A-10As in the blue side, for the FC3 folks who don't have A-10C. 5. I'd suggest an AWACS, at least for the Red side - their fighter interfaces are designed for GCI inputs.
Folks, you need to take fighter slots in this mission if you can and there aren't enough folks in the air. Tonight proved how vulnerable the A-10C is to interceptor aircraft.

Good times! And Einstein for the record, I didn't "ram" Wild Turkey, I was merely making the most of my available kinetic energy as a weapon. I also agree with having the fighters on both sides ramp start. Starting in the air was a bit disorienting and it took me a good little while to figure out where I was in relation to both bases. Taking off from one or the other would alleviate that.

To me an F-15 shouldn't out turn the A-10 which is what happened to me several times. An A-10 has the advantage low and at or below 200 knots. Time after time I managed to lure you 15s into toying with me and each time at speeds under 200 knots you was able to out turn me in just two turns. That wouldn't happen in a head to head. Here is an example: http://vnafmamn.com/Skyraider_vs_MIG17.htmlThe 15 has the advantage everywhere except low and slow the A-10 should win in these situations. I believe the physics need tweaking. Just my opinion. I did have a blast last night though. And I did manage to retirethe F-15 s perfect record of 57 kills to 0. It's now 59-1...lol
