I'd just add that the 'kink' in the lower boundary at 38km is not compatible with 'Below horizon blind zone' ~ however as this is contiguous with and has a similar effect (no reliable shot) I could see this being used as a convenient/inaccurate shorthand for both the zone of no-radar coverage, and excessive airframe heating.
Just saying... I have no hard data to support either conclusion, but am used to picking through ambiguous statements about technical information that frequently have errors in terminology/description/labelling.

Hi, guys.. I know it is not a math forum, but could someone draw me this: The first thing to realize is that this problem is about circles in the plane, not about spheres in 3-dimensional space. You are only interested in comparing a curve and a straight line, and they all lie in the same plane. A plane through a sphere yields a circle. So we just have to understand how a circle pulls away from a straight line.
Consider a circle of radius R, tangent to the x-axis at the origin and the center on the negative y-axis. (I set it up this way in order to simplify the calculation of the height which now will go straight up the y-axis from the midpoint of line AB to the origin.) The equation for such a circle is:
x^2 + (y+R)^2 = R^2

Dunno, I might be doing something dumb, but that isn't plotting as a circle for me - the left and right 'halves' don't appear to meet in the middle, being at 0 and 10 'x' units at the tangent to the axis for an R of 5.
Edit: Ok I was doing something dumb - plotting the x-y graph using only the first 10 x values, and all 20 calculated y values - excel assumes that x=count(x) if there is no valid value, so it was displacing entries 11-20 to the right.
However: I still think his formula isn't going to give what he describes - he is saying it gives a circle tangent to the x-axis and with the centre at '0,R', but I plot the curve(s) as a circle tangent to 'x' and with a centre at '0,-R'
The correct form for what he describes would be x^2+(y-R)^2 = R^2

I've noticed that on the Linebacker Night1-Wave 3 scenario, BIP has very strange behaviour. Is it on purpose or a bug?

Is it on purpose or a bug? Bug. I'm fixing some other bugs in the meantime. 1, Weasels will have limited numbers of HARM's per plane (4). (Currently they have infinite number of HARM's.) 2, I will add nukeing of own site possibility. 3, There is a bug that allows HARM to continue fly after hit by nuke. Would you be interested in a GOD MODE? Like HARM would hit but never kill...

Another question: What causes this wide signal from the second F-14 (it's like it is between the antena and E-2C "Hawkeye"... )?

I saw that and thought it was the ground clutter. It isn't?

Don't know... It appears around the second target on display... Also wonder does HARM should be somehow vissible in the moment of firing, like a mark which quickly "runs" to the + Mach part of display. It is vissible on P-14 radar, but still....

It is vissible on P-14 radar, but still....Should be visible.

Please check manual page 31. (a propeller driven plane in the RPC beam)Looks similar... What is it anyway? Can't figure it out

You have two (possibly three) targets in your RPC beam.

So, "Hawkeye" on backstage for sure! His doppler signal appears when F-14 are turning back away (angular velocity goes 0 m/s) and "Hawkeye" is circling some 200 km further....

Wellcome Milang... As I know, nobody is going to do Ajax, but Hercules... And better older SAM, but realistic, than fancy new stuff, but with no real parameters... Mission editor is good, but if there are new historical scenarios, I'll trade him.. P.S. Dear Hpasp, is it worth it to create a second "SCUD" program for Ashuluk, with the parameters from the source I've used in my post about SA-5? And about "GOD MODE", personnaly I don't mind, but I wouldn't use it...

I was looking tracks in Linebacker and found that F-4's, which blocked the airfields, has speed at 250 to 330 km/h, which seems be slightly above the take off speed. Here: http://books.google.bg/books?id=oeJuJtjK4k0C&pg=SA11-PA30&lpg=SA11-PA30&dq=f-4+take+off+speed&source=bl&ots=NZaopiqkLQ&sig=LPaTWCAE5tXN_fuOzsDxxjeIsl8&hl=bg&sa=X&ei=b26UT-7qKs_Ssga8-bGuBA&sqi=2&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBg#v=onepage&q=f-4%20take%20off%20speed&f=false and here: http://www.jetdiscovery.com/wiki/mcdonnell-douglas-f-4-phantom-ii Take-off from land bases usually involves half-flaps. The elevators become effective at around 110 to 115kt (204-213km/h), and the aircraft is rotated at 130 to 135kt (240-250km/h). Lift-off speed varies with air temperature and altitude, but is typically around 140 to 150kt (256-278km/h). I believe they should performe faster, at least snailing with 300 km/h on 2000 meters is a bit unhealthy (NVA doesn't suffer from AAA shortage, especially arround important objects).

yeah.... i was wrong.. i mean hercules!!! but hercules does no action in any war.... mr.hp should creat a surface missile about hard action in the battle field!!!! hercules created for balestic missile of russia!!! sa-5 created too ... but some change ... and from sa-5 use for long range attack,,, but hercules is no have option... has it????

Personally I think that this is not needed.

Would you be interested in a GOD MODE? Like HARM would hit but never kill... Actually, I think that idea isn't that bad. A training mode in which we could practice Libyan scenarios. OR a training scenario in which we could practice engagements in 'HARM-rich environment'
