i think ive still missed it,which RECENT(capitalised):) releases still dont support it?:)games released in the last 12 months will do I'd suggest re-reading it then instead of attempting to make out I said something I didn't. to be fair Dano yes you did say numerous releases out there that still dont support it,my point was thats true but i was then asking you if you knew of any recent(llast 12 months) that didnt support it,i wasnt trying to say what you put was incorrect:) You were quite clearly attempting to make it appear that I was incorrect by trying to lead me into an argument with no relevance to what I stated. I dont know personnaly of any recent games that dont support it and im sure this game will eventually,i hope so anyway. Of course it will, why else would it be in the menu? it's quite clearly a bug that it doesn't function correctly.

On their release day both Wings of Prey and Rise of Flight had problems with ATI FSAA. Some users also couldn't force it on Nvidia. These issues got resolved, and if I could be bothered I could work out if it took longer on those new sims than it does with COD (US release being -12 days it could be close). Sssssssssnake, as a moderator (or Officer?) on the Gaijin's product Wings of Prey forum, I'd expect you to remember that? Or aren't they good examples of major releases in the last 18 months?

I'm basically here just for the arguments anyway and without wanting to sound too 'booster' (I love that pigeon talk) I do think having broken FSAA is fairly high on the crap-o-meter of bad things in COD (about a '7', i.e. about level with 'X-factor' but just below 'GB/USA Has Got Talent' in terms of naffness).

Either way, it's well below the broken radio command system, which was my whole point. SsSsSsSsnake, no worries, it's hard to tell sometimes

RoF has shimmer? I was playing it today, with that HDR stuff on it has jaggies and all sorts of horribleness going on, but HDR off and the image is 100% faultless. I'm a bit baffled why FSAA doesn't work with it when HDR is on, but as the rest of it looks crap with it on anyway I'm not bothered. If...only...CoD looked as good and ran as smooth.
But here's hoping that's only a matter of time, eh? And not too much time.

But here's hoping that's only a matter of time, eh? And not too much time. It seems alot of games and sims have this problem. With HDR enabled it is impossible to force AA or AF from your GPU control panel. I find the HDR in Rise of Flight to be pretty much worthless, the amount of glare and glow coming from an aircrat covered in canvas is way overdone. The only thing HDR does in RoF that I find very good is the water effects when you fly through fog or clouds. Considering that I only fly through clouds on rare occassions the HDR is left off. This way I can force 16x AF and 4x FSAA with a single HD6970 and get 30-60 FPS with vsync and tripple buffering enabled at 6048x1080 Eyefinity resolutions. All details on maximum apart from HDR off obviously. CoD does have more detail on the ground but it doesn't feel as fluid even running in Crossfire mode. When I reduce the amount of detail the FPS doesn't rise as a result, in fact it gets far more stutters and FPS fluctuations. They are certainly improving CoD performance but it still feels like a lot more needs done in this regard.

I want aa and af I hate jaggies , the game does look nice when zoomed in the 30 view but the jaggies can be rather ugly and imo it's a basic for games these days.If it was as bad as IL2 was without aa or af i honestly wouldnt play it but its not even close to that bad.So .. i'm a graphics whore in part, sue me , it is 2011 isn't it? I will pay for the vas mod if need be. ps am i now a hater a whiner and do i need cheese.

But here's hoping that's only a matter of time, eh? And not too much time. This has been said before, but had you purchased ROF at release you would have seen that it had nearly as many issues as CoD, in some areas it was worse, yet within a year it was running very nicely and there has been a steady improvement since, I already enjoy CoD and look forward to the fixes that will bring it up to scratch, Im sure many of the complaints will dissapear from the forums and we will all be a happy circle of flight simmers singing Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya, or some such guff.

SimHQ is heading downhill fast because of you guys. I hold the moderators responsible, but evidently they have a hard time, because they actually have a life to live in the real world, unlike the psychos, most of whom don't own the sim and would never buy it. I understand this leads to hands-off moderating, but that only contributes to these forums being as crap as they are.
LOL. I honestly asked him a true question (if he expects people to "walk away" from a nonfunctional 50 dollar title), not a rethorical argument, and what I get back is flaming and more insults. This guy is unbelievable. And Dano, as for doing research on the product: How many guys here were posting "you can buy it now and give the developer the budget to fix it, or see it die..." and how many were posting "Have faith in Oleg Maddox, he will fix it"? Just look at Tiger's post one above this one. Now suddenly these people are expected to just shrug off the money and walk on. Ghist_SWE, for me if a "grown man" is presented with a non-working product, he's entitled to rip the head off the buyer. Walking away taking a loss while the other guy is laughing all the way to the bank is for sissies, not grown men. What you are advocating here is the dream of any software developer.

Not sure if your being critical of my post or not and it doesnt really matter, but I agree people have a right to expect a reasonably complete product, this wasnt that on release and its got a long way to go, my point though and it is my point so not everyone has to agree, is to stick with it and hopefully it will go the way of ROF, which has had a steady improvement since release, if people are to unhappy to wait, I suppose they can bin it, return it, complain to the seller etc, only problem in this case is if this sim doesnt turn things around as ROF did, then we are stuck with it as is, I want them to succeed because I want this to be as much fun as IL2 was and ROf is.

Tiger, wasn't critical of your particular post. It's just that Dano said people have only themself to blame if they bought the title and are unsatisfied with it's condition, yet many people here - and your's just was an example at hand - have been posting to encourage others to join in with the firm belief that this will get fixed. Which it maybe will, I'm not saying that's wrong, but then you can't blame people for being dissapointed if six weeks after initial release some basic things are still missing.
Doc, believe me, it makes for some honest sellers...

Ok, so you dont like posters such as myself. Fair enough. You hold the moderators responsible. But they're the ones who have given you a life-line and allowed you to post what you do. At least be ungrateful to the right people I mean wrong people I mean...ummmm...what was it you mean't, again We all live in the real world. As opposed to being, what, paranormal spirits!? Hold on, we dont live inthe real world - we're 'psychos' as well as being, presumably, paranormal spirits So we're 'psychotic paranormal spirits' I'm not sure I want to get the name-plate right for the door and the desk. It's getting quite long. The lettering copany have had to send out for more letters. I think the 'most' of whom you refer to as not owning the game is very few - me and maybe a couple of others. Don't be shy, spell it out, I understand this leads to hands-off moderating, but that only contributes to these forums being as crap as they are. So you blame the moderators. better they leave you to post nonsense than ban you, surely? Especially with a post count as high as yours. To my mind, you must spend more time posting than playing the game. Again, biting the hand that feeds you. But thanks for coming in here and owning up to the real reason for your forum behaviour over the years: "to cause as much bad image as possible for the company"... - What sad existences you guys are. The negativity must be all-consuming, would be dreadful to hang around you in real life. Unlike *lil miss sunshine Freycinet* Purveyor of all that is good and wholesome, prime motivator of human friendship, warmth and all things cameradic... I suspect you have a good portion of your existence wrapped up in this game? The flaws in it are therefore presumably unbearable, so you savage the critics instead? Of course, the critics are above all that, being reasonably, honest, moral and intellectualy savvy types such as myself and others We are the hope of humankind Now, where's the flannel...? Ben

I honestly believe that many European developers/publishers think of Europe as a money-making beta test prior to North American release.
Why? Well it makes sense to them to get money sooner -- and they get away with it because folks knowingly buy the "beta".
Personally, I think its "criminal". But, there is nothing I can do besides avoiding European versions of games (which I most definitely do). Hence, I'm holding out for the North American version. Of course, it may also have serious issues for an indefinite period (the Gothic series of RPGs comes to mind -- well conceived -- poorly executed -- never did fix everything).

You still made the choice, take some responsibility for your decisions instead of offloading blame on others, it's pathetic.
