Nice! We rented a Charger last year and drove it from San Francisco to Reno and back. We had the 3.5 V6 engine, of 258 or so HP. The engine was smooth, the car was quiet, but the auto gearbox was utter s**t, it ate so much oomph that the car felt much slower than its potential. Shouldn't be a problem with that engine, though 
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Shouldn't be a problem with that engine, though Interesting...does this model not have a tranny from the Mercedes parts bin then? I know their better cars do, but maybe the V6 large cars do not for market pricing reasons.

Great lookin' car Joe...I think that sloped rear quarter panel was a good idea in that it makes a wagon look fast. At first glance it looks like you have Darth Vader and R2-D2 under the hood .

I love those things. Nice spaces to hide stuff too! I remember when that was just a concept and it was simply awesome.
I can't remember, was there ever a stick shift option with the Hemi?

No stick shift, it has the auto stick which is nice but not the same.
AFAIK the sxt V6 model shares the same shifter/tranny with the r/t, but I can see with a weaker engine where it would be less than ideal. With the Hemi it will go from normal to rocket instantly, but in some cases it doesn't know which gear you want to be in. It's no different than any other auto car, but with this one when it's in the right gear it's thunderously quick, and if it takes longer than a split second to select the right gear it kind of takes the oomph out sometimes. Autostick fixes that.
I'm still amazed how quick off the line it is.

I think American car designers must swig from the flask of vodka and rohypnol when taking the aerodynamics classes  They don't want to cut through air, they want to pummel it into submission and leave it bruised and bleeding by the roadside!

I have a 5.7L Dodge myself, thumbs up from me! I'd love to own that car, I get to park next to an SRT magnum that same color when I go to work each week. Found a line of cars on the edge spaces parked increasingly over the line to avoid door dings last week. Front to back: mustang, magnum, camaro  .

Very cool rig Joe  , haven't seen many of them of the streets over here yet but there a plenty of the sedan versions.She looks like it would be a great highway hauler. Our mainstream wagon ( ve commodore ) has the slope style back and is also a nice looking bit of kit for a family pack , 5.7l v8 as well.About time wagons stopped looking so..wagony.
