http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=22238 Hi everyone, As the previous beta patch introduced some problems, we decided to continue testing. We're releasing an updated beta patch today, which should fix all the full-screen-related issues as well as revert the changes that caused some to experienced reduced frame rates. There are other small changes, such as updates to the in-game map, etc. First run of game with new patch is take longer then previous. Our plan is to test this beta, and if no new issues are reported until Friday night, make it live. Also, in case you do not know, most of Russia is on official holidays for 5 days between May 1 and May 9 and some of the programmers will finally take some rest. I know there's still a lot of work to do, but I hope you'll agree that it'll be better for everyone if we do rest a bit. So, with that, there probably won't be another patch until the second or third week of May, and we'll release exact details closer to that date. Updates to AI, FM and plane performance figures are in the works, but they take longer to implement and test. Hopefully you'll see the first round of them the next patch over. We're about ready to call it a night - we'll check on your results tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your help. Patch seems to work, as in no-one died on install, so there's that.
Version 1.00.14305
Definate changes to full-screen mode, in that the game leapt to my 2nd monitor for some reason so need to be coaxed back.
Map looks different - won't miss those white airfield icons, replaced by a more sombre color now.
Just trying out 'Black Death' for a personal comparison.

Downloading right now, I'll update the Angels and Airspeed server as soon as it's completed.
What WW2 Fighter pilots say about Angels and Airspeed:
"Nice job of getting down to the basics - love your choice of a cover!" Col. Clarence 'Bud' Anderson
"I have enjoyed reading angels and airspeed, it should prove good reading for all interested in combat tactics and their application related to the fluid air environment and state of technology in WWII years. All the best as you make it available." - Col. Charles McGee - Tuskegee Airman

Oo, the Hurricane Rotol has certainly changed on first glance. It's got a mirror now, plus more importantly a variable prop pitch. The mix digital read-out still seems inverted, in that I put the lever to rich to get '0%'.
I suspect they've fiddled a with the FM's then...

FF seems to work now. On the G940 the forces are still amazingly strong, and I can't find any way to tone them down. Editing the SPRING.ffe file for lower forces on X and Y axis made the experience much more enjoyable.
Can't say if video improved or not.

Just a heads up for anyone with Crossfire systems, you will need to disable Crossfire from CCC control panel. There are major graphical problems such as serious flickering and land tiles missing etc. Disabling Crossfire via software (such as RadeonPro), or by switching Catalyst AI off does not work.
So if you have a ATI X2, 5970 or 6990 card you are pretty much screwed graphically with this beta patch.
I am using 2X HD6970s and do have the luxury of turning Crossfire off completely.

I am using 2X HD6970s and do have the luxury of turning Crossfire off completely. I just re-tried forcing the AA via ATI tools but no luck. I don't think much has changed in this patch there. Putting on AA/AF via the video driver does seems to spook the game too, as in I get the channel concreted over corrupted tiles, but no real anti-aliasing either. The in-game AA effect setting they've implemented does work, but even at 1x the hit on FPS isn't worth it (50 FPS over land, single plane, AA off vs 40 FPS with 1x AA in-game).

Guess i'll just sit tight till the US steam release. I really want my xfire to work properly. I play too many games to worry about turning it off and on. Overall though, it does look liek the game is moving in the right direction at a good clip. I wont begrudge them a few days off.

...most of Russia is on official holidays for 5 days between May 1 and May 9 and some of the programmers will finally take some rest. .... Lazy sods. Get em back to work... They will want Christmas off next!!! (Seriously though, hope they get some rest and recharge the grey cells.) Edit. With all the 3 and 4 day weeks this month in the UK, we are not too far behind Russia on lazy time this month.

Congrats to the Canucks, btw...since my Sabres have been eliminated, I'll be pulling for them to take it all. Be nice for someone from the class of '70 to finally hoist the Cup!
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

It's bordering on fanaticism here (strokes hockey beard).
