I'm going to re-install IL2 1946... Can someone briefly summarize the latest state of play for me... What's the UltraPack?... Is there anything that makes the AI flight model follow the same rules as my plane?.. what are the must have's?..... Where do I get the best missions/campaigns?......... How much will I get for a 1998 Volvo T5 saloon?........Why do my kids ignore me?.... Etc.

I'd like to participate in organised MP missions or wars... not dogfighting in a melee where it really wouldn't matter if I was online or not.

You are doin the right thing mate,Il2 has moved on in so many ways over the yrs,with the latest mods its a completely different game.
I fly online with a great bunch of blokes,with vert(very)organised missions on a sunday evening,with training on a Tuesday night.
At the moment we are flying The Battle of France Campaign(and we know where this leads )
Have a look if your interested mate,we have some of the best mission builders in the game.
We do play a modded Il2 but our Trg Officer will be more than happy to help you out with this.
