Amazing and beautiful!
This does look finished, not pre-alpha. I would get it immediatly if it would be a Screenie of a released sim.

Lovely stuff.
A couple of questions if you please:
1) How much is there left of KOTS to complete?
2) Is it true that KOTS cannot be released until BOB comes out due to some deal Oleg has made with the creators?
Cheers

Cheers 1. Don't know. 2. That's just a silly rumor. What would be the rationale for that scenario anyway? Barkhorn.

2. That's just a silly rumor. What would be the rationale for that scenario anyway? Um, that 1C: Maddox is somehow being intimidated in a manner that is more extreme than the KoTS team is? Danged ol' Russian mafia.

Calm down guys! I suspect it still has a way to go!
I note that, for example, the terrain is billiard table flat. I'm sure this is just that the terrain engine is under development. We've not seen any shots showing particle effects, or gunfire, or aircraft being landed!
It may be that all or some of these are implemented to some extent, and I'm sure they WILL all be implemented, but it's a real possibly the shots are set up for publicity purposes, and you can't infer that "the sim looks nice so far, so it must be done". We don't even know if the aircraft are "flying" or whether they've just been positioned in the engine.
I'm sure when they say "pre-alpha" on the shots, they mean it. I'm very enthusiastic about this sim too, but it makes sense to keep some perspective on how close it is to complete!

I note that, for example, the terrain is billiard table flat. That's lucky, so is Flanders, not too much work to do there then.

It's flat, but not THAT flat! And the war wasn't only fought in Flanders Don't take my comments the wrong way - it's not intended as any criticism of the sim, or the dev team. Just commenting that it appears they have a way to go in their development process, and that saying "it looks finished" is a little premature.

Fair enough. It does look absolutely flat in those shots, though!

Sorry Eddie, I couldn't help but add something. I remember when Rowans Flying Corp gold was out. Someone was really panning the sim because of the lack of hilly terrain on Flanders map, not realising that Flanders is a very flat area

I'd say Flanders was more 'ridgy' than hilly, but the altitude modelling sounds very promising

Nice water, it actually looks like an inland waterway instead of just having an ocean texture applied like in IL2,CFS,FS. Fingers crossed for detailed riverbanks

I am impressed with the water.
In current sims the water never really blends with the rest of the scenery, it always sticks out. The land water transitions always look bad and inland watwerways normally get the same tetures as the sea. This looks much better.

Not to be overlLy critic, but the water looks too light blue for inland water. If its shallow clear water, it should blend with the colour of the bottom, and if deeper, sweet waterways are usually more brownish or greenish not caribean blue. But hey, maybe in france they did look more blue ciel
