Actually, I have the opposite opinion. The right-hand one-fourth of the screen taken up with superfluous information and the subsequent squeezing of the essential body of the forum, to me, has added clutter.
- I know what day it is (don't need the calender)
- The "who's online" listing at the bottom of the previous format worked well enough without being a distraction (isn't a prime reason for coming to the forums anyway)
- I don't care about poster counts or stats...I come here for information provided by the community.
Sorry, I know someone put a lot of work into the new format, but IMHO it did not add to the usefulness of the forums inasmuch as the user is concerned. Still, based on the actual forum content, SimHQ is still a top choice for the communities represented and is on my daily "to do" list.
