My HDD failed, again - and again, I didn't have updated backups. Any data recovery experts here? I can't believe I didn't learn my lesson the last time I lost some data.

There's a fairly decent program out there called: File Rescue Plus, which may be able to get some if not all of your files back.

LOL.. for what its worth if my rig crashes right now I would be up the same creek as I aint backed up in many months...

Now format it with DOD 5220.22-m compliant program and you'll be set to go.

only used a file recovery program once
the bad thing it will recover bits from every file that has ever been on your hard drive

With File Rescue you can restore individual files, you don't have to try and restore it all.
