Ugh, and instead the game tonight against Detroit gets rained out. Double-header tomorrow though.

Razor, Razor, Razor...... 28 million for Roger and he won't even matter \:D

A Boston (Ch 4) sports announcer was saying he would rather see the Yankees come back to make the season exciting. Not me, I'd rather see the Yanks at the bottom with all those old timers and more money being wasted.

And to think Roger went to the Yanks because he said it was his best chance to win a World Series

Great post Top Gun. Then again, you're just preaching to the choir here. \:D

We had a great series against Texas even though Dice-K didn't look so hot.

Not just Dice K, but Schilling hasn't looked the best either. With the Sox not offering him a contract this year I was hoping for better but he's been rusty. Tervares is doing pretty decent for a #5 starter, not sure Lester can do any better than this guy who deserves to stay in the rotation in my opinion.

JD Drew hasn't done what is expected of him and Manny has had a slow start, yet with all these issues that Boston has it's nice to still see such a big lead. ;\)

Being a graduate of the University of Miami, I used to follow college baseball for a few years but then lost interest.

Don't dump on the Rays. Their record doesn't reflect their heart. They're a scrappy team with mediocre starting pitching, but with a solid core. Who wouldn't want Scott Kazmir on their staff?

Thoughts to date:

1. Red Sox have an 11.5 game lead over the second place AL East team...which is Baltimore.

2. One word: Youk.

3. If the Yankees continue to tank, I wouldn't be surprised if Roger Clemens "decides to retire" or calls it a season based on some sort of injury only to play the same 1/2 season game next year.

4. Manny finally looks like Manny. Ortiz going to the DL? JD Drew showing some signs of life.

5. Yankees are 13.5 out and at least 9 out of the wildcard. Why can't this team just not make the playoffs for a year? Why must it always be "win at all costs"? That may be the biggest problem they have (aside from an abysmal bullpen, an aging line up with too many lefties, aging rotation etc. etc. etc. etc.). Cashman looks like condemned man, Torre is holding 2 hour pre-game team meetings, pressure pressure pressure "to win". Just go out and play the games. If they fail completely this year, it's because the team as constructed just isn't that good.
