and now for my retort. how many times has yon coolhand come to me with hat in hand and tear in clothing to fix? the answer is many! I have made more name tags and sewn more coveralls, tool pouches, and assorted emergency velco repairs than I can count for this fine "working man" and not to meantion the fact that he had to ask me how to spell the word "sew" says much for the fact that he is a "mech's mech" (not in that new cowboy movie way either) but the fact that he tries to turn bolts with a hammer, tighten screws with a wrench, and stare at the screwdriver wondering how he is going to fix anything with a glass filled with vodka and orange juice. right tool for the right job( UHG, me grog the mech, me hit with big hammer until jet start and go zoomy zoom now.) of course at this point he will also say that I have intentionally misspelled his name, sewed his coveralls shut, and performed all other assorted manner of practical jokes on him. this is all true- and I would do it agian! and yes I am working in a tax office, by coincidence it is still less taxing than the place where I am stationed now. well CH, in your immortal words, Smoke on! looks like an airshow in here!

I am here to attest to everything that Rigger says!
Even though he is a lazy no account parachute packer. Hell I guess it could be worse his job could involve fudge!
Congrats and my condolences CH. Now scoot your butt over to your new duty station tricking the gullible into joining the navy..... I mean recruiting fine young men and women to serve..

Now don't bore them to death about all the sea stories from wonderfull PAX and NAS HAWAII!! I also have the pleasure of serving time with this magnificent ******* and enjoyed the education he has given me on "real" A/C. Yeah I know that my naval carreer has been mostly with "TONKA TOYS" but, its the wave of the future.
Here's to 3 more years S!
BTW 1.5 yrs left, but whos counting...

The Oahu map of that area is totally wrong! Sorry, back in Texas now and I spent most of my time over there on the Big Island except for a several-day conference in Honolulu. The pics were taken while flying in and out of Honolulu on our way back from Kona. Had a bit of space to waste on the SD card. Anyways, Oleg neither made the map nor oversaw its production and I can almost 100% guaruntee that the map will not be changed or fixed unless a technical glitch is found. Or: That one about "It's not the poet who gives you the freedom to talk trash. It's the soldier" That's the infantry I mean

Coolhand posted here because many of the members, be they constant posters or lurkers, are friends of his. He has been a member of this community for many years. He did not state his political views or insult anyone else. You and Mr. Quinn have done both. Posting about your reenlistment is not against forum rules. Spouting off about your political views and attacking another member because of his violates the rules of conduct on this forum.

We fly virtual combat flight sims and war machines are interesting so why shouldn't war people be: they're the ones with the kit and we wish we were. I knew I shouldn't have watched that DVD about Desert Storm yesterday but it was only Ł1.99 in Woolies. Shut up I was not buying her a Valentine's card in there you fibber hers was bank-quality paper with a picture of the Queen on. Saves on postage There's quasi-military chat in here, bit of role-playing perhaps so real life service people can surely find an R and R spot somewhere in here. Blimey it's what we pay them for Hang about shouldn't you guys be guarding the President or something- "Yes we are even as we speak and btw we know where you live"

Sorry. I'm not adding that much to the original post, but I couldn't shut up. Apologies for stepping in a personal discussion, but I agree with Viking that we should keep the threads in the IL2 context. Anything regarding Iraq will undoubtly steer a political debate.

Posted by Viking-S: Well”gentlemen” Ben might not be diplomatic but in his crude way he expresses feeling many of us share. The question here is who is a troll? Perhaps it is the OT posters who discuss how they have gained a few grand’s more in pension, thanks for not involving the usual cra@p about country and flag, while screwing the world. How do you feel that this is appropriate in a forum about a WW2 air war simulation? Is it the mix of swastikas and guns that attracts this kind of crowd? I suggest that you take your leave also from this forum.

Just went over 19 years (Regular Army) myself.
Congrats!
And congrats to all for handling the ne'er-do-wells with such class. I'm not locking the thread, as it would only encourage such asshattery further.
It did go up the chain of command, though....
