For the 17 & 19, use the Skyhawk B's pit. If you want them in the Soviet 'green' repaint, you can get MK2's version off my site.
Follow the link below. Full instructions are
included in the zip

There is a file called fly VPAF and fly all migs. I'll upload both to Combat Ace and credit the author. Expect it later tonight.

You'll find a flyable "S" model MiG-19, at http://www.avsim.com Perform a search there under "vpafmig-19m.zip"

As for the the -17 and -21 variants; To the best of my knowledge, Mago is working on 'pits for the rest of the 21 series. The FM of the heroussr '21 is basically nothing more than the end result of utilizing some of the existing values, and applying a bit of "creative" editing to the drag and lift tables.

As for the 17s and 19s, most of us make due with the default FMs. The 17 is probably not too far off, but the 19's is, shall we say, very suspect? \:D

TK and his development team never intended the MiGs to be player flyable, so there's a lot of work to be done. Care to volunteer? \:D \:D \:D

Thanks for the info. I was curious if WOV had flyable MiGs and new campaigns/missions for them.

thanks all.

i have the mig-17F, 19s, and 21MF and PFM flyable no problems with those mentioned patches.

i was reffering to getting the Mig-17, mig 21F and -21PFV versions that are left in the game flyable.

as far as helping, i might try. i have 3 books coming on the 17, 19 and 21 versions with ALOT of performance data. but im sure several here have them...

im finding WoV a fun modable sim...

MK2, i await your VPAF campaign! i saw you had menus made, but didnt notice that you were working on a full blown conversion! that would be cool, 2 installs, 1 good guys, other 'bad' guys...hehe
get er done!

As stated in the other Thread, here's the Readme for my "Fly The VPAF" mod. Remembering how hard it was for me to find the necessary info when I got SFP1 back in 2002, I tried to make it as new user friendly as possible :

===========================================
FLY THE VPAF
===========================================

This Mod will enable you to make the MiGs in "Wings Over Vietnam" flyable.
As such it will try to do this in the least hassle-free method for those
new to modding the games in the Strike Fighters Family.

-------------------------------------------

1. The first three aircraft are fairly simple to modify, open your
Wings Over Vietnam/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then:

a. Drop the MiG-17 config.ini file into your MiG-17 folder.
Then copy the mig17f_loadout.bmp to your Mig-17 folder.

b. Drop the MiG-17F config.ini file into your MiG-17F folder.
Then copy the mig17f_loadout.bmp to your Mig-17 folder.

c. Drop the MiG-19S config.ini file into your MiG-19S folder.
Then copy the mig19s_loadout.bmp to your Mig-17 folder.

-------------------------------------------

2. For the MiG-21F, simply move the three files included in this mod to
your MiG-21F aircraft folder & allow them to overwrite. Then copy
the mig21f_loadout.bmp to your MiG-21F folder.

3. For the MiG-21PFV, simply move the three files included in this mod to
your MiG-21PFV aircraft folder & allow them to overwrite. Then copy
the mig21pfm_loadout.bmp to your MiG-21F folder.

-------------------------------------------

4. For the MiG-21PFM, since both SFP1 & WOV both have this aircraft, you
are better off downloading the revised & improved MiG-21PFM from :
http://www.column5.us/

5. For the MiG-21MF, Mago has produced a MiG-21MF beta cockpit which is
more accurate than using the modified A-4 cockpits listed above. It can
be downloaded at http://www.biohazcentral.com/

-------------------------------------------

Credits & acknowlegements :

A. When I started this, I looked to see if a mod by PCPilot were still available
which contained loadout.bmps for various projected add-on aircraft for SFP1.
Unfortunately I was unable to find a current download site for this mod. I
therefore have included PCPilot's entire loadout.bmp mod complete with original
readme file here. The loadout.bmps are entirely his, and he deserves the proper credit.
I, and the SFP1/WOV Community owe PCPilot a great deal of thanks for this useful
little mod.

B. The idea of making the MiGs flyable in a game using ThirdWire's Strike Fighters
engine is not new. SimDawg made a "Fly All MiGs" mod for SFP1 in 2002, and
Marcelo, of MarcFighters has done the same for individual aircraft. These guys
are the pioneers, I just muddled befuddingly along behind...

C. There are several aircraft mods, made originally for SFP1, that will work ( with
some fine tuning ) in Wings Over Vietnam. Check the forums at http://www.biohazcentral.com/
and http://www.simhq.com for more info on the 300+ mods for these two games.

Enjoy!
