The Rall book is average at best. It reads like a two-part People Magazine aritcle.

I was very dissapointed in it.

The standard for pilots bios is "Ace of Diamonds" by Peter Hinchliffe. That book was simply amazing. I expect Graf/Grislawski to easily rival it based upon Christer's previous work.

horses for courses

i liked the rall book, but then again i like alot of things others dont. The grislawski and graf book is much better IMHO , but the graf book is also excellent in its own way. When you crossreference the two its even more amazing, since you get a very different view of what went on at certain times

in fact if you read the

Adolf Gallands memoirs
Hartmans: blond knight
Ralls memoirs
Graf and Grislawksi

then its really quite funny, the differences and similarities that pop up

Another excellent read gents is "The War Diary of Helmut Lipfert". 203 east front kills and some amazing stories. Like flying drunk and getting two kills but almost crashing doing victory rolls over his own field, or his engine quitting due to battle damage resulting in him hitting a house attempting to land. When the noise stops he opens his eyes to find himself sitting in the garden of the house, still strapped in with control stick in hand, but no other part of the plane visible other than the cockpit. The rest had disintegrated...
