Kess, good to hear the update!
I flew over to the promised land to view the news and includes , been there before. It was really a pleasure this time, I was listening to the music on the index page, which i"ve heard before.
What was different was that this time when I went to a second page the music continued. Then I started to listen to it. Soak it UP. Was reading your summarised history on addons, which ive used every one, thank you!
Then it gradualy dawned on me that there were numerous pictures of pilots and officers in the background. And I kept hearing the music, kept seeing the pictures of those from both sides.

Can anyone imagine, REALLY, how it was to sneak into the service at 15 or 16 years of age with hopes of "makeing a difference" in the air war, being a "hero". And then getting 5 or 6 hours training, getting in the air, trying to fight the torque, stay up with the flight or your wingman who swore he'd get you back home. Trying to figure out what your "busted" instruments were "not" telling you. Finally relaxing enough to look around and ask yourself "Is this thing going to hold together?" Then about the time you get around to thinking about what you didn't eat for breakfast. Things really get squirrly! your flight dives for some unknown reason, your trying to follow and keep up. You worry about dropping so much altitude because it takes so long to get back up to safety. Then you become blinded by excessive oil on your goggles, you franticaly clear them and notice your one good instrument has exploded, then notice a few instantaneous rips and holes in your right wing. Then a terrible burning in your left shoulder, smoke from under the dash, then possibly flames,...........

Anyway, thats where the music and the pictures led me, I thank you for reminding me why I fly this sim. I don't care if they were "groundpounders" or "flyboys". I will always be thankful for what the young and old soldiers did for me in the past.

And I thank you and all others who endevor to enhance this "project in history' known as "RedBaron"

Thanks again, JimC.

Quick question Kess...will the Virtual Cockpits have rigging like the WFP planes? That was my favorite little touch.

BTW, regardless I'm still paying ya 23 bucks... \:D

Hey, long time...

absolutely, full internal rigging, matching upperwing bottom colors, internal damage, basically a full photorendered cockpit look from each plane, theyll look as good from the inside as they do from outside.

i started a new section at the bottom of the superpatch webpage, im adding patch updates as i go, basically things im adding into the patch as i progress.

Will any aces from Jasta 30 like Berthage be included? It looks wonderful Kess! Now I know what my wife can pre-order for me for Valentine's day.

Thanks,

Chef

Hey Chef,

Well jasta 30 is in there, ill have to look through and see if any aces spend time in the unit, i would love to put tons of aces from all sides in the game but your limited to about 65 total, which means i have to consider the important ones and ones in key positions, hence i removed some and added in a number of new ones, several being german jasta leaders and even one that went on to lead JG2.

theres a boatload of little tweaks and changes going on, so many that i probablky couldnt remember them all, there are little things like changing jasta 74 to jasta 72 so that Menckhoff can go on to lead his historically correct unit in 1918 (at least till he gets POW'd.

I am champing at the bit to get this new PL patch installed. Whenever I get frustrated with any of the newer sims, I can always find enjoyment and solace in flying Red Baron.

I still say that they will be playing this old sim on the moon, long after others have faded into the depths of time.

Well, for one, im doing all the work myself, that is to say that there is a vision ive always had for RB and every piece is being tailored made towards that vision. everything from the sky/clouds, terrains, FX, objects, planes, sounds... everything you see and hear along with new shell music is being created and replaced by me. i put in a number of new units and aces into the mix, along with realistic FM/DM/ and aggressive AI tweeks (among many other things).

Theyll be different things in there (all photorendered planes is one of the major features not seen before in RB) but i think the biggest difference is basically the quality of my work, and that youll see and hear that throughout the entire sim, not just terrains and buildings.
