I'm stuck in the RBII Campaign. I am at my first mission of September 1916, everything has been fine so far. When I click on Next Mission, a dialogue box comes up and says, I'm not scheduled to fly today, do I want to plan a mission or skip it.

I realize this is part of the game, but if I hit next, the box just keeps reappearing no matter how many times I hit next.

If I hit planner, then I'm brought to the briefing screen where missions are planned for all my flightmates except me. My name is nowhere to be found on the roster! If I hit cancel or done, I get booted to my desktop at 256 color mode with a small resolution. I'm totally confused, all I know is that I can't transfer to another sqaudron and I can't fly the next mission! My rank is a sergeant.

Never heard of such. This is really strange.

Since it is your first mission, go to your RB/campaign folder and delete the campgn.dat (it may have been corrupted).
Or delete your Pilot.

Start a new campaign. If the problem is still there, you can mail to me under

"deleted for anti-spam"

to discuss the details. I will try to be of help.

i'm getting something like that also.(with the screen resolution and 256 colors) are you using campaign manager? do you have voodoo card like me? i think it might be one of the patches in campaign manager, just haven't gone about finding out yet. only happens for me in the campaign missions,.completed one successfully, but when i hit next mission, seems i have to redo the one i just finished

I am using a Voodoo II card. But, I'm not using campaign manager, yet. Also, it was not my first mission in the campaign, I meant it was my first mission for that particular month and had started all the way from the beginning.

I once had a similar problem with Mig Alley, where the campaign.dat file got corrupted somehow. I had to start over again. I hope I do not have to do that with RB.

I'm going to try and give it a fix if possible, but I need some more advice.

Ive only had 1 pilot that was allowed to make his own mission. That campaign has had a lot of weird stuff happen and several times it had to be overwritten by the backup file because of corruptions. I would recommend deleating that campaign and starting another one. A word of caution reguarding "resurrecting" pilots with the backup files. Always switch to another pilot in the game first or every time you try to enter campaign mode you will CtD until you deleat that campaign.

Speaking of weird things happening, the campaign suddenly just fixed itself after my third attempt at running it. It just loaded up and I was on mission this time. Weird.
