In tank missions I will point 1.7km away to where the tank is to go,it may have a forest in its line which it will negoiate.Basicly it takes the shortest route.My question is this,when a friend of mine was round he did same mission and gave the tank a similar line to its destination around 1.7km away,now instead of cutting across paddock the tank made a dission to use the road.How did this happen? Ive played it since form the same spot and the thing just takes a direct route never seen it take the longer road route since.Did my friend do something by accident?.Is it possible to get it to factor in using roads?

I'm not 100%, but I think it has something to do which combat status you give the tank crew. If you set it to "danger" then the driver will not use the roads..

My thoughts are the same; Give the crew the 'safe' command and they will follow the road -same goes for building missions and you want vehicles to *only* drive on the road, not off it.

Anything other than 'safe' and they will take the shortest route.
