Have you tried the patches for weapons? tanks, choppers? NIght patch with sniper rifle, can sneak up to the enemy troops and watch them through your green screen, then they turn their light on and try to shoot you. Great AI in this game.
There is a second mission for the demo, made by someone where you get to be the squad leader, go to official forum to get it

Thanks for that, incredible. Wonder how it will all come together in multiplayer. I can see all players choosing tanks, APVs etc

The second mission is great fun and the tense atmosphere the game creates and lighting/sound effects IMHO is fantastic. In regards with the 2nd mission, I have experimenting with various ambush points but I always end up with my me/squad dying after 30 secs Bloody Brilliant game!!!

There is a thing in multiplayer games called "team killing." It’s where teammates deliberately kill you for their own fun and amusement. With every multiplayer game, an entire group of "T.K.ers" (team killers) is born. Imagine trying to drive an APC with a squad of men in the rear compartment, and some fool with an AH-1 or A-10 fires a pair of rockets at your APC, Completely destroying it and ruining your entire gaming experience. I personally hope the designers of OFP counter this all too familiar scenario.

In team games I have like NOLF and ST:EF, I refuse to play if FF isn't turned off. Too often all it takes is an idiot on your team, or even someone just making a mistake, to wipe you out. H&D and RS didn't have that, AFAIK, but hopefully OFP will. The Jedi Master

You got me curious. I decided at the beginning to shoot the LT in the opening of the game. The other two guys at the outpost turned and dropped me like a bad habit.
I think something like 'killshooter' where any damage that you do to a teammate comes back and bites you is a good plan, although friendly fire (accidental) will always happen.

TK'ers don't really care if they die also. They are usually unhappy people who find joy in the misery of others.
Doing away with the possibility of FF is not what I want to see. I demand FF be on.. or at least that it be an option to turn off. I don't play DF anymore because most games have FF turned off. Thats the same reason I don't like HL, Q3 etc.
It sucks when you FF or when you get FF'd, but it is part of what happens in combat. It makes things much more exciting.

Well, I'll tell you one thing, this is going to be THE game to TK in. With all the weapons at your disposal, TKing will become more fun for people. Even I am a little excited. [This message has been edited by jonez68 (edited March 25, 2001).]

I am wowed again.
After I RPG'd a BMP and a T-72, I hotfooted it to the dustoff Blackhawk at the extraction point.
We took off, and we were heading outbound at high alt, when a ZSU shot at us, hit us, and we had to jump.
The squad (what was left of us) jumped and chuted to the ground. The demo ended then with the tanks and the shilka closing in.
AWESOME!
Floored again.
So much to do in this demo, I simply cannot wait for the game.
Cool beans dude.
Bring it on...

hehe, you're not kidding, It's awesome! I've been playing it non stop since downloading it this weekend. Skater, go to http://www.operationflashpoint.com and grab the "Real Ambush II" missions. There are a couple of variations of the mission, including one that lets you play as the Soviets instead of NATO. There should be at least 3 new custom missions available there. (try the Sniper mission as well) Enjoy [This message has been edited by Robbster (edited March 26, 2001).]

If someone's being a nuisance, just eject them from the game. Problem solved. Turning off the ability to damage teammates just encourages a careless attitude and exceedingly ludicrous use of weaponry, particularly area effect weaponry like explosives and MGs.
Picture being in a close-up urban fight, when an enemy tank comes along and levels the building you're fighting in/around. Your entire squad perishes, but the enemy soldiers walk out of the rubble none the worse for wear.
Picture you and your teammates being spread out over a large area, when you see a soldier off to your side in the distance. Because you and your team have been careless in coordination and communication, you have no clue if a teammate's supposed to be there or not. However, none of this matters, and you simply shoot him (and everyone else you see that you're not sure of) If he falls over, it was an enemy.
Killshooter is equally bogus. Picture your cohesive squad moving setting up a kill zone along a probable lane of enemy advance. A lost, clueless newbie comes wanders into this area from an odd direction: your squad opens up on him -- whoops, he's on your team. Everyone drops dead from returned killshooter damage.
Of course, none of this probably applies to Flashpoint. It's hard to have friendly fire mistakes when you get nice colored icons and targetting reticles floating over everything.

You should change your sig to this man, Every game is imperfect in lots of ways. You should spend time having fun with them, rather than picking them apart. Not a flame, just an observation. ~Rookie

I agree with Mekh on both points. I hope there will be an elite level where no "HUD" is available. I would rather have to use coordination and careful targetting than big neon symbols over my targets. And FF is NOT TK'ing. Idiots don't understand the difference. I don't see any idiots here so lets not confuse the two. TK'ers will always find a way to screw with a good thing. RB

The way to deal with TK'ers is what CS has done. more than 5 (or x) kills against your own team and you get booted. TK'ers don't like getting booted out all the time.
The word "Martyr" is just a fancy name for "crappy fighter".

I cannot overstate how much I disagree with the way most games or people deal with TK'ers. TK'ers are usually unhappy people who just want to ruin the fun of others. If you boot them they will just come back using another name. The best way to deal with them is to hunt them down and physically murder them. When that systems is implemented then we will have a solution. RB

Well, I have to deal with idiots on a daily basis--there are more of them then there are of us, and that includes in MP games! So many times I'll be doing something and have a teammate walk up behind me and empty his clip into me. I send him a "I'm on YOUR team dumbass!" message and he sends back "Oops, sorry, I thought you were one of them." They don't bother to check where their teammates are, what they look like, whatever. If not, here it is again. You will notice, I did show the difference, and hopefully taught the difference to the wonderful people on this forum. What about friendly fire? We were definitely not your target audience, so why write that? [This message has been edited by jonez68 (edited March 26, 2001).]
