Gunner V,
The 'funky' screenshots are a result of the bit depth you run the game. If my memory serves me right, you have to run the game at 16-bit for proper colors in your screenshots.

Skycat, Thanks for the tip, I am running it at 32 bits, so that is probably it. I took a couple of screenshots using FRAPS and they came out fine. I just logged on here at work and I noticed my screenshots aren't being posted anyway. Oh well. Buccaneer, Thanks for the fix. It cleared up the aft fuselage problem, but the canopy, flaps and underneath the horizontal stab are still not mapped correctly. All is not lost however, I have just discovered and am now flying the "Old Crow" and the v2 cockpit is working just fine. Reno, I also just upgraded my V5500 to a 9700 Pro and have noticed a drop in IQ as well. I am at 4xAF and 16xAA and it still doesn't look as good as the old V5, but I am at 30+FPS now vs 10-15 with the voodoo. Gunner V

Wow! This is the first mod I've ever installed for Jane's. I can't believe how great this looks. Inside and out. Great work, guys. thanks a ton. Can't wait to get my add-on CD so I can apply a cockpit update to the other planes in WWII Fighters. Thanks again guys! BTW, the reflective instrument glass is something I've never seen in any other WWII sim. It's an awesome touch. Poison1

Gunner - You're right frame rates w/the Radeon are amazing but it just isn't as crisp looking as w/the Voodoo 5 esp in the distance views. I also tried changing resolution but that made the sim play "frame by frame" - meaning it was not a smooth play more like frame by frame.
I get the same type of look in IL2 - just not that crisp as w/the voodoo 5. Why is that? Are the Nvidia cards sharper in this respect?

Just a quick question. I noticed in the zip file for this mod there were a couple of batch files other than the main install. What are they for? As I recall, one was called canopyopen or something like that. What does it do, and do I need to run it? Thanks,
Poison

Poison, I haven't even had a chance to look at the new 'Stang (although I did download it) so don't quote me on this:
I remember some WIP screenshots had the canopy open on the exterior 3D model. So I'd imagine the CanopyOpen file is simply an option if you'd prefer to fly around with the canopy in the open position. Do you need to run it? No. It's a matter of choice.
I don't know what the other options in the package but I'd guess (again without looking) that one of them has to do with the noseart. The 'Skankee Yankee' P-47 came with an option to install a skin with artwork that is not so racy for those players who desired a more generic or historic scheme. The same option may be extended to remove the 'Whore' graphic.
Is there a Readme text file that explains this? Ramm tends to creat HTML readme files so if you see an Internet Explorer symbol try opening that.

Skycat is correct. I didn't explain this stuff in the readme file, shame on me! Unless the batch file is titled "EraseHD" or "InstallVirus", I'd open it and see what happens. [Note to self: next time create ominously titled "Mystery" batches and see who has the balls to open them. Heh heh.]

Ramm, beautiful work. Congratulations to all involved. great stuff. Still gets shot apart by those 109s, but that might just be my flying.
