I've had problems with WWIIF crashing to desktop at certain points during a mission, usually at the point when the enemy has just been engaged. This is happening enough times to be annoying (although not enough to make it REALLY annoying).

Does anyone know what might be going on?

I'm using a PIII 1 GHz, 32 MB ATI Radeon, 256 MB.

couple of questions: do you have any mods installed? if you do, reinstall the game to clean install and try again. do you use force feedback joystick? if you do, try disabling this feature in game optioins and see if problem is going to reappear. is your processor or videocard overclocked? if either one of them is overclocked, restore to original speeds and see if it'll fix it. have you tried reinstalling the game? if you have, does the problem reappear? also in video options do you use d3d or opengl? try switching to other one and see if you'll still have the problem. good luck

Changing the video options seems to have done the trick.

:-)

:-(...it seems to have TEMPORARILY done the trick. I don't know what's going on. The only "mod" I've installed has been the latest patch. I thought WWIIF was supposed to be very stable.

try reinstalling the game but after that don't apply the patch, and see if you'll still have problems. if not then we'll know its the patch and work from there.

Flash I have a fix for you hopefully. I had this same problem and the nice people over at ww2f.dogfighter.com knew exactly what the problem was. Go into control panel, open up multimedia, and under advanced options take hardware acceleration for your sound down a few clicks, if that doesnt work, turn it all the way off. I havent noticed any difference in sound quality since doing this, but this totally stopped the CTD's.
