Does anyone know how to get mods to work? I follow the instructions that come with the stuff, but the installation always complains that the required archive eg: ww2.sqs does not exist, while it is clearly there. I have unchecked the box in the properties making it writable. Skinmaster doesn't work for me, but at least the independent mods should?? A reinstall didn't help :-(

What to do? Anyone else encounter this?

when you are installing mods make sure you unzip them to the data folder which is located in the ww2 fighters folder. exmple: you have a custom skin called spit.zip you open the zip file and extract all the files to c:\program files\jane's combat simulations\ww2 fighters\data after you do this go to data folder and there should be a new folder created called "spit" when you open that folder you have to doulbe click the install file and it should install properly. but make sure that files get extracted to proper location, and there are usually directions included with every mod.

Thanks ZG! That did the trick, no more errors. What I was doing wrong was extracting the zip to a temp directory and then pasting the contents into the ww2f data directory. Of course that wouldn't work without the specific mod directory.

One small problem though... After succesfully installing a desert Spit, Trop 109, and new tracers they still don't appear in the game! Even tried building a new mission, but no still the standard stuff.

did you make a back up of ww2.sqs file before installation? delete the back up or move it off the hard drive, like on cdrw. i had this problem once and couldn't figure out why the mods woudn't appear in the game. after i replaced original sqs with a backup one, they were there. go figure.
