anyone running typhoon ok with above card? or do you need the patch to make it run?

I'm not sure the patch will work...but give it a shot.

If you are looking for an upgrade for not a lot of money, take a look at any of the nVidia-based GF2 series.

http://www.pricewatch.com is a good place to shop prices. I order all my stuff from vendors I find there, and I've had very good luck...as well as saved some money.
