I've noticed this too. I had 2 pilots in the air, one in a dogfight, and the other nearing one. I controlled the one in the dogfight until i was out of missiles then bugged out. I told the flight to abort mission and made a run for it. After a while the flankers chasing me gave up and turned away, so i took control of the second pilot. A few minutes later i noticed that the first pilot had turned back and was chasing the flankers. Not long after that the little icon came up saying that the pilot had ejected. Luckily he was over allied territory, but still needed a stay in hospital before flying again.
I want to know, what's the point of the Abort Mission command if the AI insists of re-engaging after it's given?
