Hi all,
I've got an AMD 1ghz, 384mb ram, SB Live! and a VooDoo 5.
According to Fraps, I'm getting about 25fps at 1024x768 w/ everything else max'd at 16 bit color. If I go to 32 bit I drop down to about 12fps.
Does that sound right?

I can't give numbers, but I also took a FR hit when going to 32bit on my V5.

I just did a fraps test: 1024x768x32 with a p3-800@928,256mram,Geforce 2 32megs,ATA-100 hard drive, win98se,DX8.1

I was getting anywhere from 50-60 fps with fraps.....That was in the heat of battle over the ocean.
But it never dived below 50.
I'am wondering if the V-5 isn't the bottle neck?

I would love to know how do you check your FPS inside the game?

Get a little program called "Fraps". you start it up, then run your game. While in the game it gives you a small box with a constant read-out of your frame rate.
