Time marches on indeed. An American barely old enough to have served in WWII (18 years old in 1945) would now be 97 years old!

My father was 17 the day Pearl Harbor was attacked. His 100th birthday would have been this past May.

I have not seen anything online news or on TV today about Pearl Harbor December 7th, 1941.

Very sad and shameful.

This is the current Google News page, nothing about Pearl Harbor

Yahoo, 2/3 of what's there is gossip and bull and product promotions disguised as clickbait

https://www.yahoo.com/

Bing has one mention under top stories about one of the last survivors

Don't forget that within hours Guam, Wake, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore were also attacked.

Respects to those who were killed at Pearl Harbor and throughout Asia and the Pacific due to an aggressive war policy.

Remember the past.

We Americans forget the past too quickly and we are destined to repeat it, due to that fact.

I had a number of uncles, neighbors and teachers who were WW2 veterans but they never said anything. I only learned of their service, for most of them, after they passed on.
One by one they all leave us.

We should never forget the service and sacrifice of those who serve.

Yep, same with my family. I only found out an uncle of mine had been a Navy Corpsman after he passed. Another Uncle had been a Marine later in the war and served on Guadalcanal long after the major battle early in the war. Two others served with the 15th Army Air Force in Africa and Italy.

I have no ancestors who served in WWII. My mom came to the US from Cuba in 1968 and my dad's family was all in Puerto Rico and to the best of my knowledge none of them were in the US military.

Saw something that was new to me. The number of related people serving on the Arizona when she went down.

In December 1941, there were 38 sets of brothers and one father and son pair serving on the USS Arizona, one of the ships that was sunk in the Pearl Harbor attack. Twenty-three of the 38 sets of brothers were lost, and three sets were left with just one survivor. Father and son Thomas and William Free both perished in the attack. Though no official decree was ever put forth, the Navy released a bulletin discouraging family members from serving together.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.
