"In the vast library of socialist books, there’s not a single volume on how to create wealth, only how to take and “redistribute” it.” - David Horowitz
Been hearing him lately on a current Country music kick (The Highwaymen). He also authored and was the original singer of two of my favorite tunes...
"Help Me Make It Through the Night" - Willie Nelson "Me and Bobby McGee" - Janis Joplin
The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in Gives way and suddenly it’s day again The sun is in the east Even though the day is done Two suns in the sunset, hmph Could be the human race is run
You know, I never heard him singing his own song (cool, but he's no Janice...plus a woman should be singing this. )...
Kris Kristofferson - Me And Bobby McGee (1979)
And I'll stick with Willie's version of this as well...
Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge Help me make it through the night live 1972
Rita Coolidge? "All Time High" theme song from 007 Octopussy. EDIT: Also, Rita was Kris' wife from 1973 to 1980 (I didn't know that).
But this classic is a different story...
The Highwaymen - Highwayman (American Outlaws: Live at Nassau Coliseum, 1990)

Showed wife a couple of scenes from "Fire Down Below" (1997) and she recognized him being in "Dreamer" (2005).

Thank you F4UDash4 for sharing the news which is sad to hear. There's songs of his that I really enjoy. I'm still exploring his body of work. I loved hearing him tell the story of how he penned "Me And Bobby McGee" while sitting in a helicopter on an oil rig in the Gulf as well as his small testimony that he gave on how he came to write "Why Me Lord". I found this beautiful song of his some years ago:
I'm not a Country Music fan but he was absolutely great in the "Blade" movie trilogy. RIP
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
He also had a small role as a villain in a Mel Gibson movie called Payback that he was good in. I actually worked with his brother Kraig at a real estate company where I was the IT support for a couple of years.

One of the greatest lines in music history. RIP, Highwayman. Only Willie left now.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
