Never forget. Hard to believe it's been 23 years. I remember the tragic event like it happened yesterday.

Seems like that was a different world.

9/11 is further from us in time now than the span of years between WWI and WWII.

My Grandmother was born during WW1 and we talked the morning of the tragedy of September -11-2001.
She was a young mother on December 7th, 1941.
I know that is not unique for her generation, which is sad frankly.

I was born closer to Pearl Harbor than it has now been since 9/11, 21 years vs 23.

My grandfather, born 1895, lived through the Spanish American War and could well remember WWI (for which he had to register for the draft), WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

Time just marches on with no concern for our feelings about it.

Almost identical to my paternal Grandfather. Born in 1895, He attempted to serve during WW1 but was given a deferment due to him being a coal miner and lived through the Vietnam war era passing away in December 1978.

Maternal Grandfather was born in 1894 and served overseas during WW1. He passed in October 1997 at 103 so he lived through all of that and through the Gulf War 1 also
