If the reviews are good I'll buy it but I'm not pre-ordering.
On a related note, I pre-ordered the Elden Ring DLC last night because THAT is guaranteed to kick ass.

An upcoming/imminent game I am really looking forward to is the VR re-release of Riven. I never played Myst when it came out, but I did enjoy its VR re-release a couple of years ago. I DID play Riven when it came out and enjoyed it hugely even in its slideshow format, remembering how I used to dream that one day this level of graphics would be realtime. Well not not only are we there, but it's VR.
Also, the game itself is just great if you like exploration & solving stuff, and discovering amazing & sometimes creepy places. I never finished it though, so I still have some surprises waiting.

September 5th is when Stalker 2 will be out. That will be another pre-order for me for several reasons.

Hard pass on Star Wars Outlaws. Game is ultra woke. No thanks.
Stalker 2 and Elden Ring Expansions are on the top of the list. So is Mechwarrior 5 Clans, potentially. Also Ys X: Nordics is coming at some point. The Ys games are always great ARPGs.
And then of course there was the woefully underappreciated Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which came out earlier this year. Brilliant game.
Oh, and then there is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
KCD 2 and Stalker 2... what more could one ask?
The icing on the cake would be Egosoft announcing X5 for next year, with Star Trek Klingon Academy level depth of bridge command and systems modeling of all capital ships...
Cleared hot really reminds me of Desert Strike on the Megadrive, which was a lot of fun!
Really looking forward to Stalker 2, I really hope it's as good as the originals.
That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead? Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick. Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake. No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.
Avowed is one I'm looking for, it's in the Pillars of Eternity world and looks more Might and magic - Dark messiah than Skyrim.
I'm holding out hope it lives up to expectations.

Now that sounds awesome.
Would be if they do that. I'm not sure, however. Egosoft seems addicted to economy, but they tend to upgrade their systems/features in a rotation. X3 was fleets/"economy", Albion Prelude was economy, Rebirth was ships/systems/first person, X4 was economy/UI/fly every ship, X5 is ?????? In X4 ship bridges are prominently featured, so only a logical conclusion they might finally flesh out the depth. They've never had deep shield gameplay, though. Always been a health bar. Hopefully they can finally break away from that at move the gameplay further. It is great being a billionaire tycoon, but being one ship against the Universe with a ragtag band of support ships could be pretty rad with proper systems/logistics/repair management. They have the logistics part already working great in X4.
