That's a very nice looking bird! Did you say you heat the filament to shrink it to tension?

I use an electricians soldering iron, obviously avoiding model surfaces and keeping it moving all of the time. Not always needed but is good to tighten any fully rigged lines that are a bit too slack, Mike

Weathered with 'Flory Models' clay wash (Dark Dirt) and 'Tamiya' Weathering Master (Set D -Oil Stain) and (Set A - Mud). Mike

Hi all, The propeller is finished. The kit propeller was replaced with a 'Niendorf' wood laminated version from 'Proper Plane. The company logo decals are from a spare sheet from a Wingnut Wings kit. I've added the propeller back plate cut from 0.3mm thick plastic card, as it is not supplied in the kit, Mike

Hi all, I've added the propeller back plate cut from 0.3mm thick plastic card, as it is not supplied in the kit, Mike Scandalous! Also, how did you get the lines on the propeller laminate so nice? That looks ridiculously tricky to pull off? Masking fluid?

That looks ridiculously tricky to pull off? Masking fluid? Hi Rick, That's how the propeller is on arrival. Alexey Belov at 'Proper Plane' makes his propellers from real and stained wood lamination's and supplies resin cast hub plates of the correct type He makes the propellers from different wood types and colours. All you need to do, if required, is to further stain the propellers and add the manufacturers logo decals. Mike 'Proper Plane'

They do say that the grass is always greener under your plane! Lovely! The DII always does a great job of highlighting the difference between the Halberstadt and Albatros tail designs...
