From the reviews it seems pretty obvious to me that this is a documentary for people who know nothing or very little about WWII. In other words, this documentary isn’t for the SimHQ demographic.
The title would seem to suggest first-person accounts, but maybe that's not what it is. Memoirs and films and documentaries that play like memoirs are the best. Books like Company Commander or In Deadly Combat are the most interesting to me.
My family likes to buy birthday and Christmas gifts that are history related since they know I'm in to it, especially WW2. I say to them that the more focused the topic or subject, the more interested I am likely to be. I get what Panzer is saying here, as I have a library of WW2 books, with like five copies of a book called World War 2. You just know a book about the entire war can never get to the level of detail that many of the folks around here would find interesting. So the Sicily landings ware called Husky, you don't say. I say to them if you have two books to choose from and one says The Sherman Tank, and the other one says the Sherman tank in service of the 2nd company of the 3rd battalion of the 1st Armored during the battle of Sidi Bou Zid, go with the second one haha.
