I rarely buy games on release. But this is day one no question.

I'll wait for a PC release, then at least a month for them to get the servers sorted out. Then, depending on how busy I am I might forget about it for awhile longer and pick it up on a sale after some more time.

I really wish they'd do an 80s theme game so there would be no body ink mutilation.

I'll wait for a mod that removes all of that, so all the skin is pure and unblemished.

That trailer is good. I buy in to the whole GTA vibe and this just looks on an entirely different level. R* knows what's up. If it's at least as good as 5 but looks like that I'm in for certain.

They are markings that savages bear, and not that of civilized blood. I will have none of them. I prefer a world without them. I cannot emphasize how much I detest them on people, and that footage was full of them, everywhere. Gross. Call me a prude, or whatever, but I like being counterculture. smile

Judging by the pic it looks like this one will be set in Miami Beach?

I'll probably buy it by 2027, fully debugged, half price.

Big companies don't need my money day 1 to pay for their debugging, I buy early only from bohemia (for the first time ever with them got a refund for reforger) and Jason's flight sims.

Looks pretty well populated (all assets not just people) but it also looks very flat. I like a lot of elevation in free-roam worlds, but I guess Miami - Florida - swamplands is not that map frown

Maybe there will be some surprising feature, like 100% enterable buildings or something.

I still can't get into playing a Gangster, which is the main reason why I can't get into RDR, Mafia or this series. Wish they would give us a "cop" DLC where you can go at it from the other side.

It's amazing how much energy you put into judging other people, personally I prefer reserving my energy for making my own life great, not contemplating how others should live.

The entire state of Florida is at sea level or near sea level so your astute observation is quite expected. smile

I couldn't be sure - I know Florida goes up & around the coast a little to the west and I don't really know what terrain is like there smile

6 GB video card is pretty much the average standard now if you want to play current games. I'm so glad I splurged last year and bought the 3090 which has 32 GB. It was worth the money.

Not a big fan section at SimHQ. Looks like I'm still going to fail to get a heist crew together around here. biggrin

No matter. I'm still gonna buy it

All it needs do is meet or exceed the level of GTA 5, which it seems certain to do. That, but made modern.

I see a massive hit here. Well, maybe not here, exactly. For fans of what GTA brings, this looks pretty fookin' cool. South Florida is a perfect setting. Rockstar know how to do this.

PC version probably not until 2026, so my day one won't be the actual day one.

Not surprising at all considering the demographics on SimHQ. I highly doubt that there is a significant number of gamers over the age of 50 who play the GTA games.

Yeah, there have been some signs.

I dig the whole vibe myself. It took first person being added to bring me in to GTA 5, but once done I got in to it. Played through single player twice, and dropped hundreds of hours in to GTAO. Played last night and hit level 170 in online, which takes a lot of play time. Bong's got me beat by miles, but other than him and Blade yeah, there's not much interest around here. I suspect some will be tempted regardless.

A few years ago I was looking for a new game, and thought to myself, I want something like GTA. Found out about first person and figured why not GTA then? Worth a punt and I ended up really liking it. The humor, the satire, the music, the irreverence. Over the top set piece action combined with an amazing open world and total freedom to do what you want. All the activities like street racing, or skydiving, golf, holding up banks. Just so much to do. I dig the gritty street vibe too. Someone said above they can't play gangsters, but I have no such limitation and think it's a ton of fun.

One of my favorite things about it surprisingly became the helicopters. The flight model sucks, controls are poor. But the map is just fantastic to fly helos around. Under bridges, around skyscrapers, alighting on top of your office. Way more fun than I would have guessed.

Frankly I don't care. wink I wish the world were rid of the ink plague.

I will not ask for them to be banned, because I do believe in individual liberties, but that also includes the freedom to speak out against.
