Most of those 3dfx enhancements I did are built into Dosbox-X now, although TrackIR support isn't.
I haven't forgotten about your VR request, but every time I look at it I get dismayed at the fragmentation in the VR space between Facebook/Oculus, Microsoft, and SteamVR. I only have the latter two headset types to try it out. Even if I got it working, I suspect it would be a bit rubbish as EF2000 never supported stereoscopic 3D with the VFX1.

Hey Mikew,
Long time no chat. well you do not need to chase that rabbithole anylonger I appreciate the effort. but I thought if I got it working in Occulus it would be in Stereo because how the VR works.. I just thought it would look really cool in VR.. thank you so much I enjoy the 3D FX still.. I just love the sound effects in EF2000. Also the Bukicker works well to when you light the afterburner it is so cool.. Vr would have been the icing on thecake..
I have edited the "windowresolution=*x*" value in "dosbox\_taskforce1942.conf" to match my desktop and so far that seems to have fixed it.

It has diverged from Dosbox 0.74 quite a bit and a lot of these sorts of problems go away. ...with the potential for new ones of course.
I installed DosBox-x and ran TF1942 under it, ran well for a quick scenario with no issues other than still no sound. Well.. I have sound in the start up menus but not in game. Later I'll try the campaign and see if it can run for a couple of hours without losing mouse control.
Thanks again
I fired up TF 1942 in my Dosbox setup and here's the results, starting with configuring sound:
FYI that is what I see in the emulator. The monitor is simulated. Everything is, including the screen.
Sound works perfectly.
Mouse works perfectly.
Map scrolled perfectly.
I suspect you need to unplug your joystick or switch over to a superior emulation solution. I do not know how the Nightdive version on Steam runs. I am running the original 1992 version of the game. Since you own the game, there are archival versions of the original DOS game available online in places.
Edit: Be sure to run install.exe or install.com in dos to configure the sound!
