IL-2 STURMOVIK, FORTRESSES AND FOCKE-WULFS – DIEPPE is an exciting, realistic and challenging WWII combat flight simulation set over the English Channel, the French and English countryside and the beaches of Dieppe, in the year leading up to, and the day of the Allied Raid of August 1942… the largest single day aerial battle of the war to that date. Experience what it was like to pilot and fight in Focke-Wulf 190’s, Messerschmitt 109’s, Spitfires, Typhoons, P-51’s, the awesome four engined Flying Fortress bomber and many others. Dogfight high over the Allied Fleet as landing craft and warships surge towards their targets on the coast and tanks crawl up the beaches. Provide ground support for the hard pressed Canadian, British and American Raiding forces as a fighter or bomber, or lead Luftwaffe missions to sink bombarding Royal Navy vessels or combat the RAF fighter screen. Allowing the players a unique and exciting view of this historical combined arms operation, FORTRESSES AND FOCKE-WULFS opens a window to an immersive aerial combat experience!
In this new IL-2 STURMOVIK: CLIFFS OF DOVER - BLITZ add-On DLC, you can fly with the Royal Air Force, the Luftwaffe or the newly arrived United States 8th Army Air Force. Experience a variety of missions, in Fighters, Bombers and Attack aircraft. Jump into the cockpit of the sleek but deadly FW-190A ‘Butcher Bird’, the improved Bf-109G, the massively powerful Typhoon IA or IB, fast and aerodynamic P-51A-83 and A-91, classic Spitfire VC and IXA, and of course, the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress. Dieppe allows players of all skill levels a chance to challenge themselves in a historically based campaign.
Twin engine bomber and heavy fighter fans will also have new choices… with the introduction of two versions of the Messerschmitt Bf-110F, new versions of the Junkers Ju-88A and C, as well as the Beaufighter VI and Wellington III… allowing for a huge variety of experiences in the air. In addition to the focus on the Dieppe Raid, and a campaign recreating the fighter clashes of 1941-1942, the game will also provide a mini campaign hi-lighting the famous February 1942 ‘Channel Dash’, when two German Battlecruisers and a Heavy Cruiser risked the dangers of the English Channel and the wrath of the RAF and Royal Navy to escape from French ports to safety in Germany.

At the end of the video it has the words, "the last 6 months of 2024" ???
I read in someone else's post in another forum that the in game video of the Typhoon in this announcement almost looked closer to the old MSCFS III or IL2 1946 graphics than the current CLOD graphics and that the wing being shot off of the HE 111 did not display a high quality damage model and in fact looked quite bad. I have to agree and honestly the whole video looked very amateur and thrown together in a hurry. Sorry to be skeptical but that B17 looks no where near being released in 2024. With TF's small volunteer group, producing just the B17 alone seems impossible in that time frame. I hope I am wrong, but I have been waiting almost 3 years for the graphics update which still is not available. From what vague information I read about the graphics update as of late, this will not be available until 6.0 is released. While I am still interested, this really long wait just for the graphics update alone has already made me hardly ever check on CLOD or fly it anymore. This announcement just tells me I have to wait at least another year, if not longer, most likely to see any of this implemented and frankly unless this is just perfectly produced and many of the present bugs are corrected and the SP is outstanding, I probably won't spend any money on 6.0. Sorry to say that as an ardent supporter of TF for many years, I am disillusioned by the Dev decision not to implement smaller chunks of improvements in smaller time periods and to literally spend almost 3 years now and probably over 4 years or more before seeing the graphics update or 6.0 released. Hate to say it but you guys are making it hard to keep the faith and continue to be interested when you are not at the very least fixing well know bugs which have been noted and existed for years in CLOD at an accelerated rate . In all honesty, while I am at it, the PR does really need a lot of work to keep even the most die hard supporters in your corner. The double talk, word play and just complete vagueness needs to stop. Good luck, but this announcement nor the video even registered a slight quiver from the needle on the CLOD hype train meter for me. I'll be lurking in the shadows, but that is about all I will be doing while waiting another year at least for anything new or improved in CLOD/DWT. My 2 cents.

Typhoon from pics on TF's Facebook page 23 9 23. Looks better.
The video shows an early WiP skin.. There will be at least 20 custom skins for the Typhoons (20 are already completed). That facebock image is one of them. They will look more like this.
