The details went as I thought likely (just a good guess -- I'm no expert) -- i.e. a close game to the end settled by mistakes and a couple special plays with the Chiefs edging the 49ers.

Last year's Super Bowl was the most viewed at 115 million viewers until yesterday's which set a new record of 120 million.
Analysts are saying the spike in viewers numbers is because of all the Swifties who never had any interest in football until yesterday:
But they tuned in and sat through the entire game just to catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift, who was shown on screen several times for a combined total of 53 seconds.

Yeah, that game was in the news a lot yesterday, but the only football related information was the team with Swift's boyf in it won. The other 99% of the coverage was about: Swift chugging her drink in one. Swift's boyf shoving that Coach and kissing her afterwards The ads, even commenting on the one which was too raunchy to actually show, but you can see it online. Genius advertising! Those guys running onto the pitch The half time show...with an extra feature on it being 20 years since that infamous half time show with a slow motion analysis of what happened then.

Indeed 100x I mean, we know that humanity has always been full of trite and vacuous people but with social media we are painfully aware of it 24/7.

My only memory of Taylor Swift is her playing a part on an episode of CSI once.

I literally thought Taylor Swift was a Football Player on the field at the Superbowl. Even during the game, I momentarily wondered why I hadn't heard of "him". No doubt she was shown in the stands and talked about. But, I pay no attention to non-football items, scenes, words, advertising during football games. During Half-Time, I'm not even "in the room" with the TV.

I find it odd that this thread was bumped when you consider that the NFL season doesn't start for another 6 months. I guess you had a hard time trying to find old threads to bump?

It is a current NFL story, so it doesn't strike me as odd at all. The league conducts business all year long, not just during the season.

Taylor Swift served me breakfast once. True story.
I live at the Jersey shore, and she spent her summers in my town, called Stone Harbor. As a 15 year old she worked with my niece at a local eatery called Mr Bill's Pancake House. Good food, but only take cash.
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

New 2024 season schedule https://www.nfl.com/schedules/2024/reg1/Why do the Cowboys have 7 prime time games? They are sorry! Just like the last 27 seasons since Cowboys last Super Bowl appearance in 1996, I expect this will be their season again Already the news making a fuss about the Dallas Cowboys first regular season game on Week 1, Sunday, September 8th at 3:25 p.m., at the Cleveland Browns. It will be the debut of sports broadcasting commentator Tom Brady who signed a 10 years $375 million contract with FOX. Brady in a broadcast booth means he can't be cheating on the football field. That's a good thing for 31 teams.

Did they steal that from the Vikings playbook?

i'm already primed and ready for yet another mediocre Miami Dolphins season. They should have cloned Dan Marino when he was in his prime.

The Cleveland Browns were an OK team when they left Cleveland to become the Baltimore Ravens. Since the move, Baltimore has played well on average. Unfortunately, the "New" Cleveland Browns have been "run poorly" by management ever since the "restart" in Cleveland. Not a real contender. The "Watson Trade" was evaluated by some pundits as the "worst trade in the history of Football" (all things considered). I agree and said so long before it was finalized. That Trade is on management. That one will take years to erase. Watson cost a lot but failed, young good/excellent team members are too old to continue much longer, cost 3 first round picks we could have used better to keep talent levels high, etc. All is lost. I don't expect them to make a Superbowl while I'm still alive to see it Hope I'm just being too stupid on this one.
