Wow, talk about memories, i wonder if it will pick up.
Hasn't so far. This site has a list of 1946 servers online. http://il2.com.ru/en/links.php Only 13 online today. Down from around 40 just two short years ago.
Well, as a guy who's decided to go with 'BAT', what really does NOT help is the downright rude and condescending attitude the all the forums have over at SAS.
I'm modded up to 4.2.1 but have been having trouble getting my game upgraded to 4.2.2.
Any requests for help are usually responded to by totally unhelpful 'scolds'. I keep saying, "I want the Penny explanation, not the Sheldon explanation".
Over many years, each time SAS has upgraded IL2, their instructions have worked flawlessly for the vast majority and when it did not work, those who provided the necessary information were helped.
And....if you have problems with SAS why bring them here?
Secondly, I have always gotten a fair shake and a lucid explanation how to install a mod/mission/campaign/map/patch, HERE, when the 'other place' has failed to satisfy.

If you mean getting the stock game patched to v4.12.2 then the 4.12.2 MegaPatch at M4T may be the solution.
Everything required to upgrade IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 4.07 to version 4.12.2 Use of this patch prevents use of Ultrapack and DBW mods, HSFX and some individual mods may be used with this install.
